Shut the fuck up, Mikey.
like Donny...I get it...I could get used to that line. He's like a small child who has wandered into the middle of a movie, he has no frame of reference...

There is no such thing as "Adidas Maize" or "Nike Maize".
Wake me during fall camp. Please don't debate shades of color next.
The only colors, except when there are some other colors.

At least the basketball uniforms won't rip in half like the Adidas ones did on Glenn Robinson III as well as other basketball players if I'm not mistaken.
At a certain point every Nike jersey I see just reminds me of yet another variation of an Oregon jersey

That is true for most every apparel company... School has right of last refusal.
Nike is better but they do have faid in some designs few years ago
Nike or UA would be 10x better than the junk Adidas sends out.
Forget Adidas. Forget Under Armor.
Bring back Spanjian.
WOW. I had to Google that name to even find out what the heck that was......I found this gem:
http://articles.latimes.com/1985-07-09/business/fi-8268_1_delong-sports…
This was written in 1985 and said that a company called DeLong Sportswear bought them, making "DeLong the nation's largest independent manufacturer and marketer of athletic sportswear" (!!!!)....
So then I Googled Iowa-based DeLong and found they filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in 2009.
It's hard to imagine a time before Nike and Adidas dominating (at least for me).....what ever happened to Champion?

...college teams bought thier own uniforms.
Michigan bought uniforms from Spanjian, an L.A. based uniform manufacturer.
At that time one could special order an official Michigan jersey (made by Spanjian) at one of the sporting good stores in Ann Arbor (Moe's?). It was a specila order and took weeks to arrive.
I got one for Christmas one year when I was a kid. Number 72, which at the time was Ed Muransky's number.
Anyway, it was nice that the pre-Nike era jerseys had no extraneous logos. But I guess if you want the Nike money you gotta accept the Nike logo (and alt uniformz).
and go with Russel.
It would actually be really interesting to see the school set up a production company of its own to manufacture the uniforms and jerseys, and let the students from Art and Design, business, and computer sciences run the whole operation. They could partner with another company to handle other apparel and distribution. Of course, that sort of arrangment might work better at a school with a Textiles department, but I've always wondered how successful this would be.

MSU has looked awful since their total overhaul a while back. Just because they can't stand up to Nike doesn't mean Nike couldn't be a good partner for a school with some sense of self.

Is your hatred for destroying the hate bubble in the hate bubble as well? Because if it is, I think I would like to see this.
Yes I do. There is nothing wrong with those uniforms.
I wouldn't worry about Michigan's font being messed up. MSU didn't have a custom font when Nike did a school-wide redesign back in 2009. Michigan already has its own custom font.
But msu has no uniform tradition of any kind -- I'm 31 and I think staee has had about 15 different football uniforms in my lifetime. So I don't think it really matters what they do to the numbers...
They have slowly settled into this layout in last few years? i would say..
with the 'michigan state' script across the chest plate
Just did?
That's been their number font for years.
ours look good. go for the money. we need money for football. the last 5 years has taken a hit in the football program.
Not really because of what it looks like on the field, but because of what I can buy, how long it lasts, and how good it looks on me. The Adidas apparel for fans has been awful as well IMO. Nothing seems to last. I still have a pair of Nike Michigan shorts from 2006 that I wear which are in good condition.
My mesh Michigan shorts from 2012 have already become rugged and I've only worn them around fifteen times. I also don't like the fact that Adidas still has not come out with a navy blue high brim visor for Michigan.
Have we had a "Rank the Worst UM Alt Uniforms" thread? Seems like we have, but I'm ready for another. I am serious. That's how much our alt uniforms (INCLUDING UTL) bother me.
They've been using a variation of that font (that they own) for years now...weird argument
