Well, this sucks.  I'm not a big fan of the guy, but I do recognize his college coaching ability.  Also, I don't wish this crap on anyone, especially anyone that is ~70 years old (?).  Not that he looks or acts anywhere near his age...

First, I hope Saban is okay.

Second, I wonder if this will end up affecting Xavier Worthy's visit this weekend if Bama doesn't show up with Saban out.

Third, could you imagine if Bama drops a game because Saban was out and Clemson dropped a game because Lawrence was out. And OSU doesn't have to face either of them in the playoffs?

It's been pretty much emphasized by everyone associated with CF that this years playoff rankings will be more about the "eye test" than other years since everything is out of whack - including schedules.  With that in mind, can you say that OSU isn't one of the 4 best teams out there ?  Their DBs are real shaky right now but if they get it their pass defense together, they can beat anyone out there. But if they don't, they'll get shredded in the playoffs.

The team I'm going to keep an eye on is ND. I still think they're going to lose to Clemson with TL at QB this time and they need to watch out for North Carolina. Still not sold on ND but I also have to admit I hate them almost as bad as OSU

Think about what Penix did to them last week. Except that Mac Jones is much better than Penix and Devonta Smith might be the best receiver in the nation. I think Clemson and Bama would crush OSU this year based on how they've played. Hopefully Bama takes care of business against Auburn so OSU can't cake walk to a championship against ND.

I agree about Clemson and Bama being better than OSU but I think crush is too strong as no doubt, both teams would move the ball against that weak OSU secondary.  I also think OSU would also move the ball against both of those teams.  Neither the Bama or Clemson defenses have impressed against decent offenses this year.

Having recently recovered from covid myself, I feel for anyone that is in the throws. I am fairly healthy and fit for my middle-ageness, and covid does not suffer the weak gladly. Hope he, and everyone else that catches it, recovers fully.

Thanks Stu. My wife and I both went through it. Symptom onset was a Sunday for her, and Tuesday for me. Really sucked that we both had it and neither of us really had the energy to care for the other. Did our best and muddled through. She got through it and bounced back to 100% a bit quicker than I. Three weeks from my first symptoms and I'm at about 95%. My best to your wife - hope she recovers fully and quickly.

So much for my theory. Like a lot of us, since the COVID outbreak I’ve read many a article on viruses trying to educate myself. I was thinking viruses weaken like making copies of documents. Overtime making copies of copies get so bad you have to go back to the original at some point. Still some viruses seem to just disappear. One thing that does stand out in this article is the need to shut down wet markets in Asia. Or at the very least prohibit certain species that are natural carriers and cause virus to jump to humans. The #1 offender of course is the bat. Another interesting nugget is the fact a virus escaped a lab in China TWICE! The world needs to convince China to change its ways if they want to be welcome to trade internationally. Without going to war economic sanctions are the only peaceful means to get an offender to comply with international rules. De-humidication and vitamin D are important weapons vs viruses.
Not from the article but definitely has become a issue that the US really needs to address, Obesity. America needs to get in shape. Of the 25 people under 45 that died in Florida, the most common issue among them was obesity. Just this past week I saw several people so insanely overweight they can’t even walk. We’ve all seen them in the supermarkets in their little electric scooters. Saw one lady with a front butt that had to be 100#’s. Just watch people coming out of wal mart or Home Depot, roughly 50% of americans are obese. Their just ticking time bombs.

Saban has COVID but none of his players or assistants do?  I find this a little difficult to believe since he probably spends 90% of his awake time being around Alabama staff and players.
