Ryan Shazier first to throw down the gauntlet…or is it gantlet?

is underestimating the amount of TFLs this season.

It's just too bad there isn't anything a UM player could say this week without sounding like a total idiot
November 25th, 2013 at 2:30 PM ^
That wouldn't come off as idiotic.
November 25th, 2013 at 2:47 PM ^
Ya know.
November 25th, 2013 at 2:29 PM ^
I say post this everywhere so the offense can see it. It's a jerky comment and I hope it lights some kind of fire under them.
November 25th, 2013 at 2:53 PM ^
Why? The OL will just let the papers get behind them and tackle the RB's in the locker room
November 26th, 2013 at 4:03 AM ^
Damn that's funny. And sad. But mostly funny.
November 25th, 2013 at 2:41 PM ^
Yeah! That shazier is just being a big old meanie!
November 25th, 2013 at 3:08 PM ^
No it wont, this team will perform like every other week. No word will fire anyone up. Our players will go into the big house, take their beating and move on. When is the last time a michigan got up for this game and played out of their mind. I cant remember one since 1997.

"given up a thousand tackles for loss this season." It's fewer than 200.
November 25th, 2013 at 2:35 PM ^
November 25th, 2013 at 4:45 PM ^
At least, I hope so...
November 25th, 2013 at 3:09 PM ^
lol, i know just get hung up on teh 1000 and just dont comprehend what he is saying that there is a huge issue with our OL, our offensive scheme, and our coaching up players for such a game.
November 25th, 2013 at 3:33 PM ^
"Fewer" than 200. Great. Second worst in all of FBS. Behind Idaho. I think some hyperbole on his part is acceptable given the sad reality of the situation.
November 25th, 2013 at 4:46 PM ^
At least, I hope so...
November 25th, 2013 at 2:34 PM ^
even if its true?
November 25th, 2013 at 2:35 PM ^
Well he's probably been watching the film. I don't really think this is meant to "fan the flames" of war, he's just noted that we are having problems with our line, and said it in a way nicer than many of us would say it.
November 25th, 2013 at 2:36 PM ^

Now there's a solid prop bet. We're averaging 9.2 a game for the season, and 11.7 for the last 4 games. So call it ten. Does Michigan score more or less than 10 this game?
November 25th, 2013 at 2:39 PM ^
Meh, can't really argue with what's basically true. That OSU front seven must be licking its chops after watching film on us since the ND game.
We have a putrid, horrific offensive line. Its given up more sacks and TFL than I care to count. What else is there to say?
November 25th, 2013 at 2:43 PM ^
I think it's entirely possible we could give up 25+ TFLs in the game. Probably about 15 runs and 10 sacks? Would that be enough for a single game record of tackles for loss given?

Well, Shazier is off by a bit because the actual total is 102. But that is not unexpected since he recorded 20 solo tackles last week and might still be a bit loopy. Don't worry, your guy Peppers has already started providing us with bulletin board material, just like Kalis, Pipkins and a few other guys that hadn't played a snap of college football when they started spewing "there will be blood, etc. etc.".
November 25th, 2013 at 2:49 PM ^
I bet Ryan Shazier will only have like 18 tackles this Saturday, so TAKE THAT!

Pretty mild as far as trash talk goes. Still probably better to say nothing at all.
November 25th, 2013 at 2:56 PM ^
True dat as they say in the "all powerful" SEC. The players learn to respect the rivalry eventually...other than Hart of course, and we all know how that turned out for him...
Other than the aforementioned example, it is pretty rare for either of our senior leaders to step out of line and start talking smack. The younger guys gotta learn that at a minimum, talking smack is just bad juju. Bad juju in our case wakes up the gods that brought Biakaba-still-trying-to-forget-him.
November 25th, 2013 at 3:38 PM ^
Funny how you didn't mention those two.
November 25th, 2013 at 3:39 PM ^
Why does this come to mind........
November 25th, 2013 at 2:53 PM ^
Yawn. He needs to learn proper trash talk technique from Terry Glenn or David Boston.
November 25th, 2013 at 3:05 PM ^
Seems like Fitz picked up where Hart left off...well at least as far as Sparty goes....ooops...forgot about Brandon and the whole sky-writing thing. Didn't turn out the way he planned I guess.
For Buckeye trash-talk he can get a lesson from Desmond or Woodson
