The Hinton situation is bordering on egregious. Sherrone Moore, whose play calling hasn’t been stellar btw, almost appears to be on a mission to sabotage this team.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:44 PM ^
Downvotes because of the sabotage comment I assume? Because Hinton is not good.
September 23rd, 2023 at 4:15 PM ^
I upvoted because the OL situation is indefensible
September 23rd, 2023 at 4:39 PM ^
I just do not understand how they continue to be playing Hinton when he just does not look good. Does he have Moore's grandmother locked in a basement somewhere, Izzo style?
September 23rd, 2023 at 4:42 PM ^
People only appreciate their own negative hyperbole, they dislike it in others.
September 23rd, 2023 at 5:31 PM ^
I guess so. Lol.
My sabotage comment was MAAYBE a reach, but I definitely think Moore has worrying affinity for fool’s gold that plagues both his play calling (Indiana, Illinois, and TCU stand out) and his personnel choices (which have been questioned plenty over the last year).
September 23rd, 2023 at 9:46 PM ^
Thanks, Coach.
September 24th, 2023 at 10:24 AM ^
yes, sherrone moore is trying to sabotage this team, dumbass.
September 23rd, 2023 at 2:54 PM ^
It's fine. Same result against a decent-good B10 team, so progress. Next week another such team, and first time away from the Big House. Work to be done

Good to have Jim back, baffling clock management and all
September 23rd, 2023 at 2:59 PM ^
Clock management by Jim is always a disaster...
September 23rd, 2023 at 4:22 PM ^
Is it? I feel like he's pretty average, but it's not a liability a la Dennis Green Vikings or something
September 23rd, 2023 at 5:23 PM ^
Apparently you haven't been watching Michigan football for the last eight years.
September 24th, 2023 at 9:20 AM ^
I disagree with the contention that clock management was bad. I thought the announcers were wrong when they brought it up. Stopping the clock to save time for when you get the ball back could easily backfire and make the coaches look foolish. If the other team has the ball and you have a lead near the end of the half I am 100% in favor of letting the clock run.
September 24th, 2023 at 1:33 PM ^
I don't see the clock issue. A lot of coaches would have made that punt, but Schiano made the right call by having the QB kneel it after time expired. It was like having a hand in euchre that can only be won if the other team screws up. You still play the hand to win because they might screw up, but unless you're playing Frames Janklin or the Indiana O-Line, they probably won't.
It wouldn't have done any good if he took the timeout on 2nd down and then Rutgers gained a 1st down. Now he's just lost a timeout that he might need.
Using it on 4th down means he forced at least one more snap that can't be a direct kneel down—if the QB went down too early then they turn it over in chip-shot field goal range. That's a strong possibility given the strength of our D-line and putting a young QB in a stressful situation. If they punt it we have a chance for a return.
What benefit would taking the timeout earlier provide?
September 24th, 2023 at 3:35 PM ^
Yup. The timeout saves the same amount of time whether done on 1st down or 3rd down. Rutgers would have bled the same amount of clock regardless. I don’t know how anyone is upset with it - maybe be upset they only had 1 timeout in that situation, but at the end of the day they got to go into halftime up by 7 despite the poor start and a missed FG.
September 23rd, 2023 at 2:57 PM ^
Play faster.
Pass protection makes me.worry for JJ.
Rutgers is competently coached.
Go Blue.
September 23rd, 2023 at 5:44 PM ^
I think it’s mostly Hinto , and there is no way he stays the starter…..this is game 4, he needs to be relegated to reserve backup with the possibility of preserving a redshirt
September 23rd, 2023 at 2:59 PM ^
Nebraska better be a get right game.
September 23rd, 2023 at 8:58 PM ^
Michigan outscores their first 4 opponents 127-23 and people are talking about the need for a "get right" game.
This fan base, man.
September 23rd, 2023 at 10:24 PM ^
They’ve played probably the softest schedule in college football
September 24th, 2023 at 8:52 AM ^
Michigan fans are going to say that all the way to PSU game. So, unless Michigan beats every team by 60 with no sacks, no INTs, no opponent gaining more than 100 yards, no opponent scoring in us, this team will be complained about here. So, this a no win situation for Michigan at least on this board. Michigan is not going to be able to play without making mistakes against every "soft" team on their schedule.
September 24th, 2023 at 1:10 PM ^
Yeah, but that's what happens when you play the lamest schedule possible. You'll never know how good you really are. You don't improve because you're not being challenged. You play down to the level of competition. And people will always question you. The team's schedule for the past couple years has been ass, so the criticism is warranted. Next year it will stop.
September 24th, 2023 at 12:59 PM ^
And you’ll say that after the next several games
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:01 PM ^
My only gripe is Harbs continues to be one of the worst clock managers in football. This isn't new. He wasn't good at it in NFL either.
Michigan can surely find a few extra bucks to find some geek to stand next to him on the sidelines and tell him when and when not to take timeouts. I get it. He's dealing with a lot of shit. I'm on my couch. There are coaches that are very savvy at time management and certain coaches that suck at it.
Harbs is firmly in the suck at it category.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:09 PM ^
It was his first game back so let's all take a deep breath.
I was very pleased with 2nd half adjustments which has always been a Harbaugh trademark.
But yes play faster Harbaugh, please.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:17 PM ^
We've been taking deep breaths for years. I'm tired of deep breaths. Let's snap the ball faster.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:31 PM ^
We have lost 3 games in the past 2.5 years. I think the deep breaths are an okay tradeoff.
September 23rd, 2023 at 9:22 PM ^
And a 2 time defending B1G champ and CFP participant but yeah, it’s an issue….
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:01 PM ^
Last we see of Hinton this year hopefully. let's get him that redshirt.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:02 PM ^
Well, Harbaugh is back. In every way, shape, and form.
September 23rd, 2023 at 8:26 PM ^
There's an air of authority and confidence with him on the sidelines.
I wanted this to be a boring game with no injuries. Would have liked more offensive scoring tho.
But anyway, welcome back Harbs.
September 24th, 2023 at 8:15 AM ^
24 offensive points on really 6 drives (they were not trying to score on the last one).
So out of 6 drives your max score is 42 (48 technically but you’re not going for 2 on every drive). Of those you had one bad drive, a missed FG, and 4 scoring drives. Pretty efficient, but played at a snails pace
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:03 PM ^
Harbaugh's back!
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:06 PM ^
If Schiano wanted to shorten the game, he got it. Shortest D I football game I ever saw. Team played with poise after some early mental mistakes. SD Mick said M got the snap off in time before the penalty. Still, that and the Rutger TD pass with missed tackle ( bad angle ) leave room for improvement on mental side of things. Glad Harbaugh is free and back. 4 & 0, 1 & 0 works.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:06 PM ^
Slow pacing to limit drives and plays faced by defense. Keep d-line more fresh when missing a very important piece of the rotation. Very intentional.
September 23rd, 2023 at 4:25 PM ^
People complaining about the pace of play shows what going 29 - 1 over your last 30 regular season / Big Ten Championship games can do to you...dominance doesn't get rid of complaining lol
September 23rd, 2023 at 5:48 PM ^
Also wonder if it's to reduce the load on the offense and injury risk over the course of the season. Doesn't matter if they win by 3 TDs or 6 TDs, as long as they win. And yet, I don't think this is the offense any of us were hoping.
September 24th, 2023 at 6:16 AM ^
The coach's task, first and foremost, is to put your players in the best position to win the game. When you are the better team limiting the opportunities for your opponent is important. I cannot imagine that those whining in this regard have ever been in a "this is where the buck stops" position in sports. It appears as though Jim is slowly rounding this team into a place where they can win both offensively and defensively.
I love that they are, increasingly, giving JJ the license to go move the chains on third down-with his legs.
September 24th, 2023 at 6:54 AM ^
This is correct. It's why Bo told Mo when he went to Illinois to head coach, if he's gonna be involved be on the offense, because you can control the game and clock, and on defense you cannot.

I wish there was a general thread for snowflakes. I have had season tickets since 2008 and this year has been the worst with event staff.
I have a paper ticket and the woman in front of me had mobile tickets. She can’t pull them up so we are all stuck behind her waiting as cell reception is poor.
I scan my paper ticket at the adjacent queue and an event staff member grabs me my the shirt and accuses me of cutting in line. I said I’ve waited in line and just scanned my paper ticket and asked “am I being detained?”. He said “stand over there in the grass” and after a few minutes said “you needed a lesson in patience” and then allowed me to proceed.
I spend thousands of my dollars on this every year and that is simply unacceptable behavior from Michigan Stadium event staff.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:16 PM ^
You cut the line. Should have had more patience.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:20 PM ^
I did not cut the line. I waited starting in the intersection of Main and Stadium, and the scanner next to me was open while this woman was holding up everyone behind her for several minutes. What is the virtue in waiting when I could quickly scan my ticket and it’s under a 3 second interaction?
You sound like someone who also bitches about the stadium not being full at kickoff. Well when it takes 30+ minutes to get in, that’s a problem.
Even if you think I cut the line (which I did not), it’s unacceptable for someone to put hands on me.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:25 PM ^
Okay pal! Sure you didn't cut. . . Sure.
Jk. I don't give a shit. I'm just being a dick.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:26 PM ^
That’s fair my man, take care and go blue!
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:35 PM ^
Love you. Go Blue
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:50 PM ^
I agree with you, Soulfire. And no “life lessons” from the event staff. Keep it professional, and keep everyone moving.
September 23rd, 2023 at 3:34 PM ^
Event Staff handing out life lessons: The Michigan Difference.
Could you imagine if this happened in Columbus? There’d be a riot at the gate.
September 23rd, 2023 at 4:01 PM ^
My sister and her boyfriend last week had a woman usher when they were going into their section grab them ask "Where are you going"? They replied "...to our seats". She goes "What section?" as if they're somehow sneaking into the stadium like they didnt get their tickets scanned at the gate already, then hits them with "what row?" and "what seat?" too. Fucking ridiculous.
