Dang. I’m sure few gave Cheers a chance after Shelly Long left. Then Kirstie swoops in and things kept chugging right along.
Rest in peace.

User name checks out. RIP Kirstie

You just know Kirk propositioned her in the turbo lift.
December 5th, 2022 at 10:39 PM ^
Shatner and Sulu are the only ones left now.
December 5th, 2022 at 10:43 PM ^
Chekov is still alive.
Although his son (who played a character whose name the OP adopted) took his life a few years ago.
December 5th, 2022 at 10:48 PM ^
You're right. "COSSACKS!!!"
December 5th, 2022 at 11:39 PM ^
Yes, Chekhov, a.k.a., Walter Koenig. Forty years ago, I took an acting class in which he was the instructor. He asked me whether I had ever considered becoming an actor. Fortunately for the world, I never did, before or since.

It's sad, isn't it?
I remember watching some of the first airings on a black and white TV when my parents would let me stay up to watch it. A couple of years later when we had a color TV I was blown away by all the colors.
It's probably my favorite TV series of all time.
December 6th, 2022 at 3:22 AM ^
yes, I remember being fascinated as it was one of the few SF shows on, very cool. I remember hoping the weather would cooperate and I could get a good reception from the antenna.
December 6th, 2022 at 4:07 PM ^
Sulu cant leave Shatner's behind.
December 5th, 2022 at 11:24 PM ^
‘turbo lift’? So that’s what they call it now huh? Scandalous!
December 6th, 2022 at 12:58 AM ^
Love in a turbo lift ah
Livin' it up when I'm goin' down
December 6th, 2022 at 6:24 AM ^
By appearances Shatner is cheating time at a high level. A couple of months ago I saw a video of him on some conference panel. He seemed to have all his marbles ... at 90+.

When Coach died and Shelly Long left Cheers hit it out of the park with Woody and Kirstie.
December 6th, 2022 at 12:05 AM ^
Man... We forget where Woody got his start...
December 6th, 2022 at 6:18 AM ^
Not me. Every time I see him in something there's a part of me that still sees Woody. Makes watching some of his stuff... confusing....
December 6th, 2022 at 2:38 AM ^
71 is so young. Coach died in his 60s. Loved Shelly Long
December 5th, 2022 at 9:41 PM ^
Wow, in my mind she still seems so young. Shocking.
December 5th, 2022 at 11:40 PM ^
Well, I still think of Dennis Franklin as young...
December 6th, 2022 at 9:52 AM ^
Well, at this point he can still run better than CJ Stroud.
December 5th, 2022 at 9:43 PM ^
Anyone remember the show Masquerade that she was in?
December 5th, 2022 at 9:55 PM ^
I had a big crush on her in Look Who's Talking as a kid
December 5th, 2022 at 9:59 PM ^
For Richer or Poorer was pretty funny. Also loved Toothless as a kid...
December 5th, 2022 at 10:08 PM ^
If anyone here hasn’t, go back and watch the Il Cantore restaurant and Il Cantore hotel skits with her in SNL. Those are some downright hilarious skits.
December 5th, 2022 at 10:26 PM ^
Bellissima!
December 5th, 2022 at 11:17 PM ^
I forgot about those. Brilliant skits! Thank you.

Cool story: my wife and I got off a plane at LAX once and walked up the jetway to see Kirstie Alley waiting at the door. This was around the time she was pimping Jenny Craig and making a bit of a comeback. She literally looked me up and down (I’m sure it was completely unintentional; I’m not and never was much to look at) -to the point my wife said, “Did you see that lady totally eyef**k you???”
I said “Do you have any idea who that was?!?!”

What might have been…
Funny, last year over Thanksgiving we bumped into Joe Montana in O’Hare. Gave me the same look too. 🤔
December 5th, 2022 at 11:09 PM ^
I got that look from Steve Martin in the lobby of the Four Seasons in LA. I think I was single, too.
December 5th, 2022 at 11:42 PM ^
Yeah, well I got that look from Dom DeLuise at a screening on the Fox lot...
December 6th, 2022 at 9:56 AM ^
About 15 years ago I was in line right behind Gordie Howe to board a flight home (DTW) from Vegas. I said, "Mr. Howe." He never turned around. FML.
December 6th, 2022 at 11:02 AM ^
To think, you could have scored a Kirstie Alley and Joe Montana 3 way!
December 6th, 2022 at 11:30 AM ^
I got that same look from Bert Bielema once, but it could have been because I was carrying a tray with 4 extra large meatball subs in one hand and a pitcher of beer in the other.
December 6th, 2022 at 6:43 AM ^
Well, she did publicly thank you husband for the ability to give her "the BIG O" so she is apparently not a wall flower.

She once compared Trump’s twitter ban (following January 6th Capital attack) with slavery. What??
