RIP to “Harbaugh has never won as an underdog”

What’s the next BS, worthless factoid that the media and Michigan trolls will trot out and insist is significant?

1) he doesn’t make $8mm per year unless he wins the conference/makes the playoff and since smart guys like you keep crying about how terrible he is, that seems pretty unlikely to happen. Your entire premise is either outright bullshit or just straight up ignorance.

2) can you point to any teams/coaches who have great records on the road as underdogs? Didn’t think so

3) still dying to know when ‘the reckoning’ is coming.

Can’t even meaningfully respond at this point, can you? Were you flat out lying about the $8m, or are you dumb enough to not actually know? From your posting history, one is just as likely as the other. All you have are petty insults and more bullshit.

And seriously, when’s THE RECKONING?

Great win today, obviously! Very happy with the team and Jim's coaching. But that doesn't mean prior criticism of his results suddenly becomes moot. It did take until year seven to win a road game as an underdog. Let's not spike the football on his critics quite yet. Will be much more satisfying to do so after a OSU win and Big 10 title!

"Michigan has never beaten a ranked opponent on the road that is favored by more than 1 possession... on a rainy Saturday in November with the wind blowing less than 10 MPH... while the Pope was having his afternoon tea."

Just a guess.

Don’t worry this narrative is alreasy being pushed by the haters….

”good job beating Wisconsin in a down year”

”Wisconsin was overrated”

”Wisconsin should t have been favored”

“I’m not going to support them until they beat an actual good team”

“they’ve played 9 halves of good to great football but that one bad half against Rutgers outweighs all other evidence this year”

”they beat Wisconsin but I think they need to beat everyone else on the schedule and win the National championship before I will accept it and then if the lose one game next year, I will lead the pitchfork and torches crowd”

I doubt you are asking in good faith, but as an example …

The morning of the 2019 ND game, ND was favored -1.  By the time of kickoff, Michigan was favored -1.  Michigan wound up winning the game by 31.

Was the blowout win any less meaningful because Vegas changed the line by two points a few hours before kickoff?  People who tout that stat would have to insist that it was, and that is beyond stupid.

I’m sure there will be a single sports book somewhere that had Michigan favored by half a fucking point so this won’t count.  <rolls eyes and sighs>

There is an entire group in this community criticizing a guy who has taken an NFL team to the super bowl (and apparently they are all smarter than the love child of Knute Rock e and. Once Lombardi).  They will NEVER be convinced that Harbaugh knows jack shit about football.  I can’t wait for that crew to spin this behind the woodshed beat down.

Go Blue!

This team and Harbaugh deserve credit for this win.  I am no longer a fan of Harbaugh as HC and thought the program should have moved on from him.  I will say that he surprised me today.  I knew Michigan’s only chance of winning would be to air it out more than they have.  I just didn’t expect them to do it.  There were some issues but they did it enough to make the offense effective and the defense played great outside of the last 2 drives in the first half.  I have to give credit when credit is due.  Go Blue!

His record is what he is or has been. Its Harbaugh who has caused this little stats you hate so much. Yes, Michigan is no longer the only FBS team to have not won as an underdog since 2015. But Harbaugh is still 1-12 as an underdog. How do you change that? Keep winning.

I'd also like to see him lay to rest his record against MSU, PSU and OSU. Not to mention no Big Ten Championship games, no Big Ten championships and no playoff appearances. Here's to hoping he crushes all those tropes, which HE created. If you want to irritated at someone about it be irritated at Harbaugh. I sure hope he has finally turned that corner much as Dabo Swinney did.

Plenty of winning teams still have a few games per year where they are underdogs. It could be conference championship game, NYD bowl, or the playoffs.  Since 2015 they have all managed to win at least one of them. Glad Michigan has too (now) but I think the gist of the post above is that none of us will be happy if Harbaugh only wins one game as an underdog. I can think of at least 2 more games on this schedule that if played today, Michigan is an underdog. I want Michigan to win those games.

Beautiful little coaching snowflake you got there. If only there were a place to put it.

But the idea that he couldn't win as a dog was a stupid theme to advance about a coach who is famous for one of the greatest upsets in CFB history. Everyone knows that Harbaugh can win as a dog. Just ask Pete Carroll.

Going for it on 4th down twice on the first drive?? Going for 2 in the 4th quarter up 3 scores?? Calling a go route with 5 mins left in the 4th quarter in a blowout??

Harbaugh is back and I’m here for it

Lol at boasting of a new 1-12 record by beating an unranked 1-2 team that had no QB.  I think the fact that UM was an underdog is more indicative of how Harbaugh is viewed nationally.
