Remember We Play 12 Games!!!

Submitted by swdude12 on

Yes the past 2 weeks have been hard but think about it this way.  Our 2 opponents are a combined record 12-1 Both rated in the top 15 in the country.  Turnovers and mistakes are game killers and have cost us dearly in the past 2 weeks.  The coaches coach and the players play...the coaches are not responsible for fumbles, interceptions, and brain farts.  MSU and Iowa both played mistake/turnover free football and that is a huge reason why they won the games.   This bye week couldnt come at a better time.  Work on our mistakes and to get guys healthy.

Illinois and Purdue are must win games in my mind.  Penn St is definetly a winnable game. Win those 3 and we are 8-4...At the begining of the season who wouldnt have taking that? I would in a heart beat.  Senior Henne, Hart, and Long went 8-4.  We got a bunch of young guys out there playing there asses off.  They will learn from there mistakes...We can beat anyone but we just have to play turnover and mistake free.

Please dont start with the QB controversey BS...Denard is our man and will step up.

...more than this one.  Hopefully everyone's healthy and ready to go in 2 weeks, and they work on whatever "no facemask" drills they run in practice.

I couldn't agree more, these last two weeks have tough on us fans but i saw alot of improvement in todays game and i think we put up a great fight against a great team. I cannot deny that Denard is our man, but boy is it awesome to see Tate on the field throwing those long passes. I would be happy with 8-4, but i think we can beat wisconsin if we build some nice momentum coming off with wins at Penn and Purdue and beating illinois at home. I only see it going up from here.

5 more games after the bye week and time for denard to get healthy and start shredding defenses like he did in the first 5 weeks.

anyone know the half-life of dilithium and the way to put it in reverse?

Cooler heads will realize that we just played two better teams.  I'm not saying more talented, just better right now.  It's nothing to be ashamed of and I still think we can win every game before Wisky comes to town.  But mistakes kill.  Iowa would have been a top 5 team this week if they didn't have the turnover and special teams mistakes at Arizona.

Let's see us healthy and fresh at Penn State and hopefully we'll get a more disciplined effort.

And those may have been the best two teams in the Big 10. I think it's conceivable for us to end up fourth behind OSU, MSU, and Iowa. Or fifth behind UW, too. But we can win the next three if we play the way we are capable.

We have a better record than Florida (who just dropped a 10-7 nailbiter to Mississippi State at home).  This despite the fact that they have been stockpiling #1 recruiting classes and have a pretty awesome head coach.

We have just as many losses (only 2) as USC (lost to crappy Washington team), Texas (blown out by crappy UCLA team), Virginia Tech (lost to 1-AA team), and Miami.

ND, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Colorado, Georgia and probably a load of other historically good programs would blow a hobo to be where we are right now.

And we're returning 20 starters next year.  The only thing putting a damper on the ridiculously bright future is the know-nothing-whiney-bitch segment of our own fanbase.
