Rashan Gary Fitting In

Submitted by StephenRKass on

There's a fluff article at the Freep (freep alert) on Rashan Gary:

Michigan's Rashan Gary already fitting in well with the defensive line.

Greg Mattison is quoted:

The thing that excites me probably the most about that is he’s with a great group of guys that can mentor him and get him into that freshman year. One thing I’m real proud of is these seniors. They’ve become real men and they see a talented kid and they’ll make sure he does all the right things and we’re going to help him get as good as he can be. “He’s already fit in.

And something almost all of us are anticipating:

The challenge is where to put Gary because, Mattison said, “he’s got the size to play inside, but the speed to play outside. So it gives us a lot more flexibility.”

The future looks bright. Bright indeed. Looking forward to the season.

He's probably got more per capita talent coming together for him this year than any other position coach in college football. I've never looked forward to watching a defensive unit more than this one. Can't wait for the Hawai'i game!

I don't buy it. The only place Rashan Gary really feels at home is in an opponent's backfield, with bodies on the ground and terror surrounding his every move. When he can hear the joyous screams of 115,000 Michigan fans acknowledging his deeds...then, and only then, will he feel truly at home. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a football boner that I need to take care of. Damned fluff pieces...

That was the most concussed I've ever seen a player. That sort of wide-eyed "I'm alive but I can't think" look. The announcers even said something to that effect: "You ask him 'how many fingers am I holding up?' and he'll say 'Thursday'". Or something like that. I'm almost positive that Morelli played the following week too. /Checks. Yep, he played against Illinois one week later. Article says he was "limited in practice." Unbelievable. Hard to fathom that less than 10 years ago we were still in the dark ages of concussion protocols.

It's nice to hear that any new player is fitting in. I'm really hoping that he's an unstoppable monster who has a tough time standing out on the line because everyone is unstoppable.

This is the sort of article my buddy would send me ...and then tell me how Michigan got the "nation's #1 recruit" and how he's from New Jersey and how great the Defense seems to be looking, according to Mattison..

And then I just shake my head and remind him of MGoBlog and not to be "that guy" when it comes to repping his Alma Mater.

lol ...good problems to have in A2 these days.

With all this talent coming in, how can he even think about retiring, having way too much fun.  One of the best recruiters sending a pipeline straight to the NFL.  Rich will be getting richer.....

and it even rhymes!

It is going to be absolutely fun (no jinx) to watch this team this year.
