Does anybody have any information on the status of this young man?

The only thing I wish they would have done with Gentry is a few trick plays using him as a passer.  That said, they did the right thing moving him to TE.  He will be a 2nd or 3rd round pick.  Not too many fast 6-8 TE's with good hands.  He could be a big weapon in the NFL.

Gentry's 32 catches for 514 yards (16.1 YPC) says you're wrong. He had a few drops against Ohio State and (IIRC) Indiana, but that doesn't mean he can't catch. Chase Winovich missed a sack against Florida, but it doesn't mean he can't sack the QB. Shea Patterson threw a couple interceptions against Florida, but it doesn't mean he's a bad quarterback.

Jake Butt averaged 11 or 12 yards per catch during his career, Gentry's up around 16 or 17, and some Michigan "fans" think he blows. Yeesh.

The status of our 2nd string kicker?  Why does this need an entire thread dedicated to it the day after the bowl game?

Quin became a celebrity before he became a good college kicker.  That can generate a lot of unneeded pressure. Moody looks much more reliable and it’s highky unlikely Quin ever plays ahead of him.

It sure seemed to me like Harbaugh gave him plenty of time to get it worked out.  I would suspect Quin will transfer to a team that needs a kicker and hopefully for him it’s very possible he can get his mojo back.  Just not against us.
