Quick Wormley update from Twitter
The fact that this seventeen year old young man whom I've never met won't commit right now to make this relatively slow Michigan week a little more exciting really makes me question his character. Why isn't he thinking of me, damn it?!
Did Diamond just commit? Somebody with a Scout account tell me! Either he did, or they just pulled the mother of all misleading lead-ins!
No. It's a mix of sneaky writing by Scout and horrible reading comprehension by Scout subscribers.
I don't know that it qualifies as horrible comprehension. At a second glance, it lands one comma away from the most optimistic interpretation, which given our delusional level of mania, readers would be likely to overlook.
...the longer his recruitment carries on.
We shouldn't be so impatient. We don't have any reason to worry about the strength of this class. Top recruits often don't decide until during their senior seasons or after. It's really not a big deal.
My view is that Chris Wormley probably wants to decide in his mind and then let it sit for a while, be sure he is making the choice he wants. That's a sign of maturity. Anyone suggesting otherwise is showing their own immaturity. Time to grow up and let this man chart his own course.
He obviously likes Michigan a lot, likes the new coaching staff a lot, lives an hour away from campus. He sounds like the kind of guy who, once he commits, he's solid. I'd love to see him join our program, whenever he's ready. And I bet we'll have a spot for a dynamic player like him.
It's funny how people are acting like a 2012 kid making his committment before the start of the 2011 season is sort of a late decision.
Great point. I think what has people so puzzled is that Wormley has allegedly had Michigan #1 for such a long time that it seems odd to them it's taking so long for him to pull the trigger. I'll confess to being a bit puzzled myself, but then I'm a Michigan grad/homer and my perspective is definitely skewed.
The only defensive recruit we've offered that I would be really disappointed in not getting is Pipkins.
was immiment. Could it be that Ace is wrong again?
I didn't think another rumor worthy of its own thread, but the Twitters were briefly saying that Jordan Diamond committed to Wisc. Then, the Twitters said "oops".
It's always embarassing for The Twitter when he has to come out and apologize.
For Hart.
Reason being is Hart will make a diff at Al. next year who will at MICH.z?
and know several people who are coaches/trainers/ect... on the staff. Chris is definitely not the type of kid who is seeking attention!!! It's quite the opposite, he is a very low key and mature young man. I wouldn't read too much into him taking his time with his announcement and wouldn't be worried about him going anywhere else. From all indications he is very much a Michigan "LEAN" and we'll leave it at that. When he feels ready to announce he will and we should let the young man enjoy his summer.
