I’ll always remember them for what they did to Sparty!
December 5th, 2021 at 9:15 PM ^
Exposing Sparty as frauds a week after their flukish, ref aided Super Bowl victory against UM?
Yeah, that was great.
December 5th, 2021 at 9:17 PM ^
Precisely! Tucker has beaten Jim twice with flukey crap. I hope next year we right the ship with those turds.
December 5th, 2021 at 9:51 PM ^
I don’t know that 2020 was a fluke. He had a bafflingly simple gameplan that Michigan had no way of countering or being able to answer.
Now 2021? Yeah I could say it was a fluke. But Michigan got straight beat last season.
December 5th, 2021 at 10:05 PM ^
The whole Rocky Lombardi throwing up prayers for pass interference calls and getting them was a flukey offense. Still shouldn’t have lost that game but it just doesn’t seem to me that Tucker is some mastermind that’s straight up beating us.
December 5th, 2021 at 11:03 PM ^
I would heavily disagree that being thoroughly outcoached is a fluke. Unfortunate and inexcusable, sure. But they could play that exact game 100 times and MSU is winning the majority with Don Brown's mind boggling stubbornness.

KWIII (in reference to playing OSU) has 6 reasons why Tucker is a shit coach. #5 will shock you.
December 6th, 2021 at 12:11 AM ^
The whole 2020 season was a fluke and not just for Michigan.
December 6th, 2021 at 6:32 AM ^
If we don’t play Ohio State can it even be considered a season?
December 5th, 2021 at 11:45 PM ^
like basically half their "wins" against Michigan since 1990. funny how we've won zero flukish/ref aided games against little brother and they've won half a dozen.
December 6th, 2021 at 8:55 AM ^
Of all the B1G teams, I think Purdue is definitely the most upset-minded team and I’m glad we didn’t have to play them this year. I think their 8 wins this year is the most they’ve had in a while.
December 6th, 2021 at 12:01 PM ^
The Spoilermakers.
December 5th, 2021 at 9:24 PM ^
Of course they won't be back. That's like assuming Hutchinson or Haskins would return, lol.
December 5th, 2021 at 9:33 PM ^
Agreed - I don't think this news is threadworthy unless they decided not to play in their bowl game which seems to be the new trend with star players but one that I have trouble digesting.
December 5th, 2021 at 9:47 PM ^
Agreed - only coaches should be able to bail on their teams before Bowl season. And that is only when they get a big raise.
Players should stop being selfish and stop worrying about petty things like their NFL draft stock. We, the fans, have a right to see the best possible players in these meaningless exhibitions that are just sort of on the tv without anyone paying much attention.
I mean, only one or two players per year seem to blow out their knees before the draft. What are the chances that it would be them?
December 5th, 2021 at 9:57 PM ^
Be reasonable. Look at how many coaches suffer career-ending injuries in those bowl games!

I recall the word douchebaggery being used on this blog to describe a coach who bailed on his team to get a big raise.
I guess players should be able to be douchebags too.
December 5th, 2021 at 10:45 PM ^
One or two players per year? I call BULLSHIT! Yes, I know it happened to Jake Butt but that was very much an exception.
December 5th, 2021 at 11:43 PM ^
Jaylon Smith ruined what could have been a special career getting hurt in the Fieta Bowl before the draft.
Those are high just high profile injuries of devastating injuries. How many guys have less severe injuries and can’t fully participate in the combine?
December 6th, 2021 at 11:17 AM ^
Brian Kelly has been rightly and roundly criticized.
OP wasn't even that harsh on this, he just said he has difficulty accepting it, which is barely even criticism.
If you're writing screeds about individual players who skip bowls, yeah that's a bad look, but it's silly to suggest you have to love the trend.
December 5th, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
Au Contraire!
David Bell will forever be a part of Wolverine lore. In fact he should be an adopted son.
217 yards receiving vs MSU to beat Sparty.
Without him we are not Big Ten Champions.
I am forever grateful.
December 5th, 2021 at 11:07 PM ^
Why is "threadworthiness" so heavily policed by some people here? It's Big Ten news obvious or not, it's as clear of a thread title as you could possibly ask for so you can avoid clicking on it if you don't care, and we're about to hit super slow stretch for Michigan-centric stuff with the next game being a month out. I really thought the forum would lighten up after the last two games.

2/3 of this board needs a Lighten Up Francis. Its digital real estate during a 4 week dead period. There is room for everyone in the maize and blue pool.

Aren’t HH and Hutch graduating?
December 6th, 2021 at 8:59 AM ^
Per depth by recruiting class under useful info on this very blog, Haskins would have 2 years of eligibility left and Hutchinson has one. The "no count" 2020 COVID year significantly impacted eligibility statuses.
December 5th, 2021 at 9:43 PM ^
Like when Bryan Cranston in Argo film raises glass thanking Canada... I say in same fashion... "THANK YOU PURDUE"....Without Purdue beating Sparty, we don't even get to play in the Big Ten Championship...
December 5th, 2021 at 10:00 PM ^
Yes, and thanks for nothing Penn State.
December 5th, 2021 at 10:32 PM ^
We had already clinched the division by the time PSU kicked off against Sparty.
December 6th, 2021 at 9:13 PM ^
oh, I know. I was just hoping they'd beat those bastards as well
December 5th, 2021 at 10:17 PM ^
Good luck to them in the NFL.
December 5th, 2021 at 11:36 PM ^
They’re an opponent next year.
December 6th, 2021 at 8:06 PM ^
The BIG TEN front office was scrambling to replace Wisconsin as our next locked in West rival after seeing their results last year. Im kind of joking. Strange you dont see a 9 year run vs Illinois?
December 5th, 2021 at 11:48 PM ^
Are they also both skipping the Music City bowl?
/Asking for a gambling degenerate.
December 6th, 2021 at 9:13 AM ^
If the coach is announcing it, I would imagine they are skipping the bowl. At least they should.
December 6th, 2021 at 12:47 AM ^
If I recall correctly Michigan was close to landing Karlauftis. Imagine how unique it would have been to have a defensible claim that we had the 3 best edge defenders in the country. (Not the best package of 3 but the # 1, #2, and #3 best edge defenders.)
December 6th, 2021 at 12:52 AM ^
Let's be real, Will Anderson and Kayvon Thibodeaux are both better than Karlaftis and Ojabo. Let's not be too much of homers lol
December 6th, 2021 at 9:56 AM ^
Will Anderson plays a different position. And having seen a lot of Thibodeaux and Ojabo, I'd say they're virtually equivalent.
December 6th, 2021 at 8:08 PM ^
I dont remember Gus Johnson yelling Thibodeaux's name out? Why didnt he go to LSU again?
