PSU vs Minny: Rob Bolden leaves game with injury
October 23rd, 2010 at 2:55 PM ^
I'm guessing he'll be back next week.

When he first went out they said he got "poked in the eye", but seeing him on the sidelines he looked rather out of it. Upgraded to concussion.

I'm always confused....is a worse injury a downgrade or upgrade?
October 23rd, 2010 at 3:06 PM ^
Ha never really thought about that, good question though.

Just like when someone says they went "up in the rankings".

Because the only thing better than playing against a freshman QB is playing against a SCARED freshman QB.
October 23rd, 2010 at 3:12 PM ^
like a huge deuche....tried to shove him back on the field and he collapsed in pain...
October 23rd, 2010 at 3:23 PM ^
but the announcer's explanation of the injury made me giggle:
"Bolden left the game with some scratches on his hand and a poke to the eye."
More like a Three Stooges episode.

Wasn't placed in as second string, for those who are too lazy to click on the link. Further confirming that Newsome flat-out sucks.

in U-M history?

I'd have to say Shavodrick Beaver, as Newsome was responsible for Tate committing and Beaver for Denard
October 23rd, 2010 at 7:30 PM ^
Tate moved the ball pretty well during his time against BGSU and Iowa. Yes, the offense isn't at the same level that it has with Denard, but it's still pretty good. On the flip side, Shavodrick Beaver is far and away a cooler name than Kevin Newsome. It's no Wonderful Terrific-Monds or Sid Sixkiller, but definitely a good name to have nonetheless.
Granted, once Denard makes us go "DENAAAAAAAAAAARD~!" again for the next five weeks and two years, Beaver's decommit will definitely be better.

I'm kind of upset that we're not gonna be able to show him what he could have been for Michigan. I'd also like to say it worked out for both parties but he is clearly struggling.

I was at the game. Bolden, before he was hurt, was average to terrible. Royster runs at about 2 mph. The lines stunk.
McGloin came in, then Newsome for a series. Newsome got hurt, so McGloin went back in.
BTW, Anthony Fera was awesome. Sad face. Multiple 50 yard punts, and kickoffs into the end zone EVERY TIME.
On the sum of the action, I saw nothing today that should concern Michigan next week.

Really? I didn't watch much of the game, but Bolden's stat line (11-13, 130 yards, TD) looks pretty impressive.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:21 PM ^
Nader Furrah could go 11-13 for 130 yards against Minnesota. They fucking suck.
October 24th, 2010 at 12:57 PM ^
Well, I hope they suck far harder than anyone else on PSU's schedule, because Bolden never put up numbers like that against anyone else.

Other than the fact that ND, UConn, IU all got bitch-slapped up and down the field.
