He wants to get an early jump in recruiting so it’s next Thursday. Take that FWIW.

It's times like these that I am truly grateful for our sacred freedom of the press. I have no doubt that grizzly, weather-worn press veterans will with hold no punched in their quest for the truth - truth to power, and... inflammatory rhetoric injected into click-bate titles that bare little resemblance to the lack of substance within the article!

I hope we get to the bottom of any practices that last 30 minutes longer than NCAA rules!!!

Man. I hate being a stickler, but it's really not hard to make a decent thread title.

Also, isn't the 30th kind of late? I realize he can get started on everything now with assistants and recruits, but I thought I remember press conferences being a couple days after the signings usually. I could be wrong.

We all knew who you were talking about, but not what. Were you asking when it would be or telling us? Did you have some other information about it or were you fishing for it?

It was a bad title. It was exactly like the one most cited as an example of a bad title to avoid, "Justin Feagin". No need to insult anyone for pointing it out.

I actually agree. I only clicked the thread link because I was completely unsure what the title was referring to, and actually had assumed that I missed the press conference or that this thread would be giving information on when it would be, etc. So, chalk me up as someone who wouldn’t call you a stickler, since I share your feelings

Yes, they usually come sooner. I'm not sure why we would prefer that in this case.

I think we can agree that putting together his staff and hitting the road recruiting are his top two priorities. We've already heard Jalen Wilson say he's expecting him to visit his house. He's got a lot of work to do and very little time to do it.

It will be a better press conference if he can introduce his assistants, rather than field a lot of questions about who they might be. If the new coach was an unpopular choice like Ed Cooley, he might need to hold his press conference right away. Winning over the fans and local media would be a priority. That's not a problem Juwan has to deal with.

I agree the assistants might have something to do with this as well. A couple days to let the guy sort out his staff is, if nothing else, courteous to the current assistants, rather than rushing a press conference. Probably moreso than the recruits and players though I'm sure he's gonna hit the ground running with that stuff today as well.

They may even be working to bring current/former players, current players families, and other around to show the stability and support for the coach from the Michigan basketball family. It's a little different sentiment when you're bringing back a former player as a head coach than just a dude who was right for the job but has no other connections. When Harbaugh was announced I believe they had former coaches, players, and Sarah and the kids there. Assume they'll do something similar

Hasn't stopped countless others from making threads with terrible titles and content. I've never made one myself but as far as I can discern, you should find a random tweet from the corners of the internet and position it as absolute fact,  include as little information in the title as possible, upvote your own thread, argue vehemently with anyone who disagrees with you using personal attacks, and be sure to include religion and political tinges to your OP and any ensuing comments. Go nuts, fella, and have a good time out there!

He's probably going to Jaylen Wilson's house today. Meet with Yak, Saddi, and Haynes before the end of the week. Check in with Bajema, Zeb and Franz. Trust me, MgoBlog is happy there's another week of anticipation and speculation!

Turns out this is the quiet period for basketball recruiting. Juwan can meet recruits in person only on campus in Ann Arbor.

He has to explain that to Wilson and the other recruits. There's no limit on texting, facetiming or phone calls, just meeting in person. Not ideal, but at least it's easier on Juwan than doing a far flung whirlwind tour.

I don’t. I bet if you follow UM twitter feeds or check MGoBlue.com, you’ll get an answer.

Clearly needs to get on site and learn the ropes.  May be trying to lock up the staff and announce that at the same time.  Plus, it is a holiday weekend so we will have to wait until next week.
