Predictions re: Hoke firing?

Submitted by michgoblue on
So, after another loss, it is now obvious that our "goal" of a B10 championship is no longer reasonable. Wit that said, what is a realistic expectation for hoke beig fired mid-season? I am going under the assumption that Brandon may survive this mess, as he does have a lot of support from alum athletes, current athletes, Michigan coaches, etc. so, if Brandon is here for at least the foreseeable future, what does everyone think happens to hoke between now and osu? My prediction is that he is fired the Monday after psu if we lose. The bye week gives the interim guy 2 weeks to get adjusted and take over. Thoughts? Guesses? Am it he only one who is still up thinking about this pathetic team / season?

Never happening, Brandon's too stubborn and with the fan base becoming rapidly more apathetic than angry he'll be able to wait until the end of the season.

do what's best for the team. In the pregame radio broadcast they said players were glad they were away from Ann Arbor. And some of you worry about what Hoke is doing to the program.

Hoke couldn't organize a stuffed animal tea party. The guys creating the situation that makes players glad to get away from AA? That's entirely Hoke and Co.

I'm going to go with the whole "if they had better coaching, they'd suck less, and the fans wouldn't be so damn angry" chain of consequences. Digging the whole reality thing and all.

Is it possible that DB would fire Hoke mid-season to deflect some of the attention that is being put on him? Like, the way a HC fires an oc when he's on the hot seat? Does it work like that at all or since he hired him would it just make DB look worse?

only way he goes prior to a bowl game is if we don't go to a bowl game. It's sad that I'm almost hoping we don't so the next guy can at least have a chance at salvaging the 2015 class.

I hope before Hoke gets canned, that Hoke inspires the team to beat MSU and/or OSU, (which will take a small miracle to pull off) then exits stage left.  Hoke would need to give the speech of his life; just win one for the clapper.

I predict that there will be a thread like this every week (even during bye weeks) until Hoke either resigns, or is fired at the end of the season.

Also the Chicago Cubs will win the World Series next year in a Game 5 sweep of the Miami Marlins.

I think it will be December.  DB knows his own time is up, and will prolong the agony just to stick it to the fan base that's been calling for his head.

While now the chances of even making a bowl game are slim, you make them none by firing the head coach.  With the exception of one throw DG looked good last night.  The run game looked pretty nice in the last couple of drives.  Michigan got jobbed a replay that was pretty obvious.  Doesn't help Hoke, but what can you do?

a fresh start may be what i need after these last few seasons. especially considering some of my points were from congratulating Hoke on the job he was doing

I said it before and I'll say it again, he's not going to get fired until after the regular season.  If Brandon remains in charge you can take that prediction to the bank.  We're talking about a guy who refuses to evaluate coaches until after the season.  And if Brandon doesn't get fired, not only does he wait til the last minute to can Hoke, but it also takes him well into January to hire a Michigan Man replacement.

Did anyone else notice during our punt return about midway through the second quarter that we only had ten guys on the field? Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere (apologies if I missed it), but I was at the game and wondering if maybe I just counted wrong toward the end of the play. If I'm correct add one more tire to the tire fire that is Brady Hoke.

this, first my prediction is if DB is going to be fired, it will be by Sunday/Monday of next week. If that happens, I think Hoke could get fired once we become bowl ineligible. I just pray we get a coach who can develop this talent. Honestly, I'm hoping its a guy that doesn't want to overhaul the entire system, because that will take another 3 years of rebuiling, we can't do that.

He's not getting fired until seasons end, I wish people would stop creating endless posts on this every week. They're not going to fire a "Michigan Man" mid season. DB however could go anytime I feel. Keeping him around will cost more money in losses over time than his buyout will.

Mattison''s D. Regression, and not adjusting his plan. Rushing 4 isn't working, we talk about the OL but the D is as disappointing. Maybe fatigue, I'm stumped.
