Postgame Gems on The RCMB

Submitted by Mike Damone on November 18th, 2019 at 2:02 PM

Been quite that weekend at the RCMB following the beatdown.  Some really funny stuff from what appears to be a rather unhappy fanbase.  Though there are many quotes to choose from - here are a few gems.  Hope you enjoy:

Well, I must say, these coaching changes are going swimmingly!  Well done, old chap.

What a fun experiment.

I mean, wtf do they talk about in the position meeting room when they review Lewerke's passes? "Uh, nice read Brian, but try not to skip the ball in front of the receiver, nnnkay?"

Dantonio set us back a decade. Nobody will want this job now.

How about the shark ****** at CMU?

Forget the timing of the bonus. Give him the money and get him the fuck out.

Why give him the bonus?  Dudes going to cost us a lot of coin to clean house. He already got his bonus for being allowed to keep those incomps on staff this year.

It's like giving a salesmen a huge bonus by missing his sales target by 50%.

From little brother, to it's never over, back to little brother. This circle is complete.

About that 7-0 lead they had: "Sometimes you get your little brother excited when you’re playing basketball and let him get the lead. Then you just come back and take it back."

Well if you are trying to get away from the controversial stuff at MSU then you better vet out his staff because Max Bullough has been implicated in PED use and  the mother of a young lady who was gang raped in the time that Max was there said she is asking lawyers if she could name names- but did say he was curentlly on a college staff.

It would be counter productive to start off fresh in a "new era" by bringing the last era's criminals with you as coach

I can see Luke's going to Michigan State, unless he is perfectly fine being the best MAC team. There is nothing wrong with wanting to remain there. He gets to recruit Ohio a little better, but the problem is competing with OSU for Ohio recruits. He would obviously have that same problem at MSU while dealing with Michigan State.

So, after typing all of that, I have decided that he probably won't want to go to MSU.

I have made the same mistake in the past. My bigger point though about Luke is that if he brings Max with him then he starts off with bad optics outside of East Lansing. The guy who still hasn't opened up about the secret Rose Bowl suspension, his failed PED test in the NFL, and maybe part of a gang rape during his playing days.... that is a lot of baggage to bring INTO your fresh start.

If they get a new staff they should do themselves a favor and break ties with the nonending negative press they beg for.

Reading the comments about the AD- Spartan fans are forgetting why Bill has that job. He is the same guy how had emails to the former President promising he would delete all data from meetings that he could. Outsiders are not allowed into the circle there and insiders are not pushed out unless it is in handcuffs. Dantonio will have his deposition and maybe that will spill enough blood to take away his will to continue coaching. What outside coach would want to go to a school where the fans are now toxic, the AD is temporary, the BoT is literally criminal, and you are replacing the most popular coach they ever had....

My personal favorite was in their game thread when they were absolutely *furious* that Gus Johnson mixed up which of MSU's sexual assault scandals were related to the football program.

Hilarious seeing the "set us back a decade" comment. If only they realized they're back where they were for multiple decades prior to 2007.

What I like most are the posters on that board trying to make themselves feel better by saying that Michigan can't win the Big Ten and is going to finish third in the East again... MSU's finishes in the Big Ten East since 2016 are: 6th, 3rd, 4th, and (racing towards) 6th.

Tbh I used to think this forum was better than RCMB but all it takes is an opponent having a decent drive and theres people in the game thread saying the coaches are worthless and everyone needs to be fired.

I have since concluded that whatever overall quality difference there might be between MSU and Michigan grads, it does not express itself in the behavior of the respective fan bases on sports message boards.

Without UM, PSU, and ND all down at the same time, MSU would never have become relevant for the few years they did.  Universal order has been fixed.  MSU is irrelevant again.

Have to hand to the RCMB gang, there are a lot of funny posts over there. I always like it when they call Mork old cranky & senile ...lol.

OMG they're self-aware.

Shockingly, I do take exception to one quote:

"Dantonio set us back a decade. Nobody will want this job now."

Mark this down because I will never defend this scumbag ever again, but the fact that they think it was a desirable job BEFORE he came is hilarious. They're delusional. He made it a decent job (and then burned it right back down to the ground).

My favorite post-game topic thus far from the RCMB has got to be speculation that Urban Meyer is going to be their next head coach.

Really, guys?

Oh my god they totally would. They are certainly that shameless and clearly ethics is not a prerequisite for an MSU coaching job.
