Peppers

He deserves an appreciation thread for tonight's effort. I don't think even Charles ever played this many snaps. Our defense was gassed at the end of the game, but on the last dirve who made a shoe string tackle to save the tackle and the win? I'll give you a hint: he had played over 80 snaps already.

Legendary game. Reminds me of the Chris Perry game vs little brother where he had like 50 carries.

Excellent game but he almost fucked us with that punt. At least that is a teachable moment. That man is an incredible athlete and player. Very happy to have him.

He really didn't "almost fuck us."  He touched it without anyone around, knew he touched it, and was not under pressure to gain control of it.  Everything after that was just dumbasses in the announcing booth and on the field not knowing the rules (potentially including Peppers, but doesn't change the fact that he didn't need to do anything other than gain position of it in the endzone)

It's the same instinct that saves us 15 yards of field position on a lot of the punts when he sprints forward and dives to make the catch.

I want him to play offense but I was thinking 5-7 plays a game.

Worried about some of the hits he took - he doesnt need to truck everyone on offense (can fall earlier to avoid the hits) as he is so needed on D, but at this point he is the only scary player on offense (Chesson can be in space but getting him the ball in space is difficult) so you really can't do much about it.  Looks like they put a lot of plays in for him these past 2 weeks as evidenced by his pass (near) attempt.

Dude is going to be in a ice bath for 48 hrs after that game.  I hope we dont need him vs rutgers as we will vs Indiana, PSU, OSU.

..exactly the demeanor you want in your starting QB.

Speight seemed more settled and chilled out on the sideline than Rudock.

Rudock must have done a lot better in practice to have earned the starting job over Speight.

Personally, I'd like to see more of Speight based on the little bit he showed us in getting the winning points last night.

I don't see Rudock making that TD throw. I'm not even sure he would have made that 2 pt play. Not saying we have a QB controversy but on that winning TD pass, Rudock can't make that throw.

I would not be surprised if we he gets to play a little bit in the next few weeks. Can he do that for a full game or half a game? Don't know. He may get that opportunity. It depends on how serious Rudock's injury is. Probably not too serious, but he might be rested. We will see. But, I am with you. It is very encouraging to see Wilton get confidence at the end. Loved it.

You know, he's clearly very competitive, and occasionally there are mental errors and near-muffs, but he is quite disciplined. A lot of guys with his skill set would be loose cannons. Brilliant, but frequently hurting the team in their effort to do everything. Peppers holds to the exact place in the endzone he needs to when he decides whether a kick is returnable, every kickoff. He doesn't rush to try to get a punt on the sideline that would risk a fumble when it will go out of bounds for good field position. And, on the pass play, he chose to run out of bounds rather than forcing a dangerous pass, giving Speight a chance to win it.

Speight. Entered the program behind much higher rated QB's. Speight didn't give no ****s.

The media focused on Jake and Shane for the QB position for the season. Speight didn't give no ****s.

Harbaugh signed 100 QB's during his first "official" signing period where he had 3? months to prepare for? Speight didn't give no ****s.

Jake went down during a play that deserved a penalty and recieved none. Speight gave no ****s.

Speight, under tons! of pressure needed to score a TD to win. Speight gave no ****s.

One touchdown, a 2-point conversion later. Speight still doesn't give a fuck. Speight is a starting Michigan QB and has earned it.

If Speight never gets the nod for another start in his career I will always remember him. He was subbed into a game during a HUGE point in Michigan's history.

Losing this game, Michigan would reasonably never be in the BIG 10 Champtionship game conversation agian, for the year. Michigan would have lost a conference trophy...again.

Speight stepped in during a TREMENDOUS point of the game. No time to warm up. No time to gauge the defense. Speight gave no ****s.

Speight is a Michigan QB. Speight stepped in and delivered. He gave no fucks.

I'm shocked that Peppers could put so much focus on football after the story about his Chlymadia broke this week. Even more impressive.
