Penn State Upsets Wisconsin

81-71 the final.  Trice and Davison combined to go 5 for 20 from the field.

Sucks for them - gives them 4 in the BIG loss column.

Good for us in BIG title race - the BIG gauntlet continues to wear down even our top competitors.

I'll paste my own write-up below so I don't add to the redundant threads

Penn State snapped a 13 game losing streak of 10 years against Wisconsin with an 81-71 win today at Bryce Dallas Howard Memorial Arena. Wisconsin has lost two of three games and falls into a fourth place tie with OSU at 7-4 in conference.

Those expecting Wisconsin to turn it around this year may also be disappointed. Of their last 9 games of the regular season, 5 (!!!) are against Michigan, Illinois, and Iowa. The other 4 games are road contests at NW, Purdue, Nebraska, and a home rematch against the PSU team that just pantsed them.

The most important news of all, however, is that with PSU's win, MSU now has sole possession of 13th place in the big ten. February starts on Monday...

The first glass of wine after a month break is fawesome! I’m going stags leap cab. My mind is already playing tricks on me. For instance, I’ve already had the thought that Tokyo is fourteen hours ahead so the month of January is over at ten AM tomorrow. But I’m going to stay strong.  On Sunday mornings, I’ve made a habit of picking up frozen screw drivers from a local greasy spoon. Great way to start a Sunday and provide amble incentive for a peaceful nap. Here is to February!!!!

PSU has been playing a LOT better ever since their own COVID-related layoff -- of course, this IS the same team that blew out VaTech, at VaTech, and very nearly upset us, too. So, it's not like they are a horrible team, by any means, despite the W/L record.

But now, they have rolled off Ws against Rutgers, NW, and Wisconsin in their last four games, and came REALLY close to beating OSU, as well.

Let's hope that we return from our own COVID layoff with as much fire as PSU has shown lately!

This is good. That put a distance between Michigan and Wisconsin in the standings. As long as Iowa and Illini lose a game, it should give Michigan a cushion when they come back from a 2 week pause just in case if they came out rusty especially when their 1st game is against Illini.

I made a comment about how Penn State’s players won’t pass to Harrar on the pick and roll because he is so limited offensively. After that, he was the best player on the floor.
Trice was a non-factor. Gard Izzo’d Micah Potter. He still hasn’t figured out his own team. So weird to watch Wisconsin flail around, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Potter only had something like 4 points in 11 minutes. That, after 22 in Wisconsin’s last game. The big white guy from PSU owned the paint in the second half.

Wisconsin keeps this up, they won’t be a Q1 win anymore.  Also, I haven’t really considered them to be a conference title threat in a while. They legit have a bottom 3 offense in conference.  OSU is a team to watch out for.

On the flip side, if PSU keeps this up, they could turn into a Q1 win. Currently ranked 36 on kenpom

At this point are there any "upsets"in the BIG10?  If a team is on that night they are going to win the game.  I think its Michigan and everybody else, from what ive seem

Bruh, what in the fuck happened in the 2nd half of the Purdue Minnesota game?  Purdue couldn’t do anything in the first half. Free throws were the only reason it was close at half.
