Other non-Michigan games you're looking forward to this coming season

Submitted by alabluema on

I'm especially looking forward to the Alabama vs. Penn State game on 9/11. Here in the Tuscaloosa area everyone is overlooking PSU, saying it will be a relatively easy win, etc. Call me what you will, but I'll definitely be rooting for Penn State in that one. I'm unbelievably sick of hearing about SEC superiority, how pathetic the Big 10 is etc. Any chance Penn State pulls out the win?

Also, I was curious to hear about other non-Michigan games you might be looking forward to this year. Ohio State vs Miami is another good one, although I hope Miami spanks the Bucks. No Big Ten allegiance for me in that one.

Is going to be a very interesting game because you know Miami is still not over 2002 yet. They will come into this game looking to do some damage but OSU's defense will be the key to the Buckeyes getting the win and Pryor's ability also. I would not turn my back on Jacory Harris for the Canes. This guy looked pretty amazing in the 2009 season so OSU might have to be on their heels in this one. Should be exciting! Hopefully Miami wins.

Game is in Husky Stadium, both former national powers (championships in the 90s) are back on the rise.  I think this is a very intriguing game.

Surprised to see other Pac-10 games such as UT-UCLA, ASU-Wisc, Oregon-Tenn, USC-Minn, or BSU-Ore. State, listed before anyone mentioned this game.  I think UW-Nebraska will be far more interesting.

I've already addresed this in a previous thread a few days ago, but I am not on the "ZOMG! Washington is BACK!!!!!" bandwagon.

UW was EXTREMELY lucky in their wins against USC and Arizona last year. They finished 5-7, but really deserved to be 3-9. Jake Locker, who is being as unfairly hyped for the Heisman as Pryor IMO, is a good but not great QB. Finally, UW's schedule is very difficult this year and I predict they will finish no better than 6-6 in 2010.

I expect Nebraska to win this game without any great drama. Probably by 10-13 pts.

Thanks for your response, but as someone who watched every one of their games last year, I strongly disagree.  Yea, the Arizona ending was fluky, but how were they lucky to beat USC?  Because Corp was playing instead of Barkley?  Are you going to use that argument?  UW won that game because they had a great final drive and caused turnovers.

You're conveniently forgetting the Arizona State, UCLA, and ND games.  They probably should of won all 3 of those games, but certainly the last two.  You fail to mention the blown call against ND in which Chris Polk scored a touchdown which would have put the Huskies up by 2 TDs late in the 4th.  There was a second blown goal line call (it was on a 2 point conversion I believe to tie), that would have also would have allowed UW to win the game.  So, as you would like to say they really deserved to be 3-9, I can say they really deserved to be 7-5 or 8-4.  Funny how we can choose which games we want to make that argument.

UW's schedule is easier this year than it was last year.  Or 2006-2008.

every year i say to myself "this is going to be the year that i pay attention to the WORLD of college football, not just Michigan.  I am going to watch big games, little games, all games, thursday games, saturday night games."

saturday get here, i pace around the house for hours until Michigan starts, then am too pissed off to take it anymore and go out running/walking/crying/screaming or am too happy to even focus on anything, just talking on the phone with dad and other fans about how breat the world is, puppies, rainbows, etc.

Iowa @ Arizona on 9/18.

Just because nobody's mentioned it yet.  Arizona looks like a team on the rise and it'll be a good early test for Iowa.
