OT- Who is the dirtiest college basketball coach of all time
Watching the tourney this weekend with all my friends and seeing Kentucky play, we all wondered how long it would be until John Calipari and UK would have their eventual title stripped from them for Calipari's dirty antics.
We started to discuss who is/was the dirtiest NCAA b-ball coach of all time. Names like Jerry Tarkanian, Kelvin Sampson, Jim Harrick, and Calipari arose. Are there any others out there that are/were dirty that I am forgetting about? Curious to hear who you think the dirtiest coach out there was/is ?

0% graduation rate. ZERO!
Huggins too. I don't know if he made Cincinnati slimy or the other way around but it's still on both of them.
Can't believe no one has mentioned Eddie Sutton yet.
I can't remember his name, the coach that created "basketball strategy" as a course so players could get credits and A's. That's ballsy.
Jim Harrick. One of the questions on the final was "How many points is a 3-point basket worth?"
If what has been reported about UNC bball players taking classes that never really existed, I'd have to throw Dean Smith, Roy Williams, Bill Guthridge and Matt Doherty in this group.
Rupp wasn't exactly a saint either, was he? (and I'm not just talking about his racial views).
Wow, amazed that this far in no one has mentioned Eddie Sutton. UK got hit with sanctions due to cash being given to players father and they were caught. red handed.
Just seems priceless that almost 30 years later UK now has one of the most dirty coaches in the game. While he has not yet been directly linked to scandals at his former schools, everytime he leaves a school it ends up under NCAA investigation.
Ron Jeremy?
Mike Rice.
1. Fired for hitting a player.
2. Hired an alcoholic for an assistant.
3. Intentionally got himself ejected from a game and left the team in the hands of an alcoholic.
4. Played with only 4 players when he had an available reserve on the bench.
5. Made his players pass the ball too much when they just wanted to shoot.
6. Didn't know about the picket fence play.
7. Let his players decide who was going to take the big shot to win the championship.
I'm not even going to talk about his inappropriate dating relationship.
See Blue Chips
Neon Ba'doh.... I mean Shaq
It's Dave Bliss in a freaking runaway.
Calipari has to be up there. Many of the other coaches mentioned in this thread flouted NCAA rules that don't make much sense anyway, but very few did anything that was immoral in an absolute sense. Calipari, on the other hand recruited a player whom he knew had cheated on his SATs (Derrick Rose).
EDIT: Forgot about Jim Harrick. That dude gave players A's in no-show classes.
were the first 2 names that popped into my head, but I'm sure there are other slimeballs out there. Not sure why this thread got negged; I think it's a valid discussion.
Maizenblueball. I thought it was a valid discussion topic too, but for some reason all my topics get negged on here.
