OT: Va. Tech loss to James Madison

Based on the fact that the entire national media has this as a second thought story and barely mention it, I would say no.  That does not mean that it is not equal or worse (equal in my opinion).  But it says that Michigan is a program that is on a much higher pedastal than Va Tech.  So even though it's equal, NOBODY will care like they did with Happy Appy.  We're Michigan, that's just how it's gonna be, better or worse.

...and it's an in state school.  Last year UVA lost to William & Mary which was very bad.  My son is a freshman at VT and was at the game.  Here's what he texted me after I told him I knew how he felt (losing to an FCS school):

It's funny, it's cold, misty and dreary outside.  Perfect setting.  I also know how it feels to lose to a school of scumbags now.

My fiancee is a JMU alum, so she's pretty happy. She's much more happy about the Michigan win though. 

To answer your question, I'd say JMU is a much worse team than App State was that year, but it's hard to say which loss is worse. It becomes a subjective argument with most non-Michigan fans loving the way Michigan fell. Haters gonna hate.

almost as unhappy as VaTech.  They're going to have quite a problem with the computers come October and November.  Its signature win just became mundane.

Yes, but because Va Tech has nowhere near our national profile, it will be forgotten - except in Boise, where it just torpedoed their title chances.

The more FCS teams that beat FBS teams, the less that App State game is brought up.  Keep em' coming guys!!  (except next week of course)
