Apparently there was a revision to the rule 2 years ago that isn't listed directly in the rules on MLB website.  In postseason the game is postponed instead of called and will start where it left off.

Any player changes will count as subs with the replaced players not available.  I think the Tigers will swap in some lefty bats anyways.

it is hard to see who has an advantage since both teams lose their ace for one game in the series.  But I think the matchups bode well for the tigers:

Fister twice? on the road

Scherzer on road

Verlander and Porcello at home

This is a near optimal arrangement for us since Porcello pitches well at home ... Verlander, I believe, will be more effective in a spacious Comerica where he can be more comfortable taking risks with a fast ball (that never phases CC for some reason), and Fister never walks anyone which is gold when you play the yanks.

How is it fair that the Tigers had to face the Yankees' ace twice, including once in a driving rainstorm, while the Yankees only had to face Verlander once -- yet it's actually going to count toward the outcome of the game?

Typical Selig.

The game will resume where it is tonight at 8:37 pm EST. The only change is that Doug Fister will be starting, but another great guy!

Sounds like CC and Verlander will now pitch Game 3 Monday, so those of you with tickets just got a massive upgrade in your pitching matchup from Sweaty Freddy vs. Scherzer to the two best pitchers in the AL this season.  Nice deal.
