And all those top players going to Ole Miss just really liked the campus, and the opportunity to play for a traditional joke program. Nothing to see here.

With the administrations help they were able to successfully slut shame them so that none of the football players err "alleged perpetrators" were charged with anything.

On a side note 7 women have dropped out of the University, one even had two strikes against her for "loose behaviour".

think Tennessee has any better or worse culture than other programs.  I think a few kids did a couple of repulsive things (allegedly) and one of them took place nearly 20 years ago.

I can't speak for the other progams, but UT is the epitome of the "Good Ol Boy" culture.

of Penn State's reaction.  "Support the team, we are still awesome".  How about no rally, and you get to the bottom of these problems and investigate all allegations.  sit down, shut up, and atone.

I was thinking the same thing. As soon as the Sandusky stuff was exposed, one of the PSU coaches hung that note on his office door stating how awesome Penn State is and then mentioned (for the millionth time) that PSU is the only college FB program to never go on probation, etc. Nothing like a program kissing its own ass after a decade of covering up for a child rapist.

Whether the public display of unity will do anything to change the current perception of the school remains to be seen, although it was likely a necessary step to help stem the negative recruiting that’s impacting all sports — especially football, which is the sport at the root of most of accusations made by the victims in the lawsuit.

You know, Butch, some of the things creating the perception are alleged to have happened under your watch, so I don't know that the entire response can be a severe complaint about the extensive media coverage of the accusations, and then a pep rally apparently meant to gloss over the potential problems. There's something very unsettling about all that, if that's going to be the official stance.

I don't know, maybe I'm biased. Somehow i can't get over that vote by Fulmer in 1997 for the coaches poll and I feel like all this is payback for screwing Michigan over on that vote. Karma is a bitch.

The vote was because of Peyton not getting the heisman over Woodson. The allegations start with Peyton. Peyton is a link. Michigan had the biggest stadium, Tennessee expanded to be bigger, and Michigan expanded to be even bigger. No one attends Tennessee games anymore. Fuck Tennessee. You mess with Michigan, you will lose.

is they held the rally to help recruiting, not to get to the bottom of a serious problem. Just because their coaches are united does not mean there is not a problem. I live in Tennessee and hate every freaking thing about this program. The idiots do not realize that no one outside of the borders of Tennessee give two craps about their program. Sing Rocky Top all you want, this is not going away because you held a press conference. Now the only thing most people know about Tennessee is this, you play with fire you get burned.

Some guy in the comments called us "bitchigan" and I am SO offended! I can hardly even sip my coffee over it. Some safe culture they're promoting... /s

Anybody besides me think Jones is entering his last year at TN? I feel like the team next year will be dealing with distractions and will have a hard time finishing strong again. At a place like Tennessee, a coach may be able to survive off the field trouble. But off the field trouble like sexual assaults combined with a poor season? Jones' career as a coach is on the line with how he handles his team this offseason.
