OT: Tate Martell Loses QB Competition to Freshman at Miami

Submitted by CincyBlue on August 12th, 2019 at 11:52 AM

@Brett_McMurphy

Freshman Jarren Williams has been named Miami’s starting QB for opener vs. Florida. Williams won a 3-way battle w/sophomore N’Kosi Perry & sophomore Tate Martell

................No word if Tate has entered the transfer portal again.

The problem is, I am 99% sure that  if he ends up sitting on the bench, he’ll no longer have the girlfriend because she’ll break up with him know it’s clear he won’t be the BMOC.

I mean, there are always exceptions. But in my experience, the more a couple fits cartoonishly clear idealized stereotypes (guy is alpha male BMOC/wealthy/powerful; girl is mostly just smoking hot as her value add), the greater odds are that it’s a very transactional relationship. As soon as the woman looses her looks, the guy cuts her loose. The moment the guy loses his BMOC/wealthy/powerful status, she cuts him loose.

That's a damn shame. Quick google shows she looked good before doing that lip shit

It looks like she's trying to look black like Beyoncé or something. Mental issues clearly

On her Instagram she has a "Work email" listed so I guess you can bang Tate Martells sister if you got the money.

I posted this picture, and I think she's clearly an instragram "thot", but this:

Seems a bit too much.

Posting a funny looking publicly viewable Instagram photo of someone who appeared in a Netflix show = "OK".

Suggesting that a young woman is a whore without proof = "Not OK".

Clear now?

Probably, but at some point I'd love to see the tables turn & have them show up to The Game with a non-viable QB situation. I feel like 2018 was the first time in forever when we showed up to The Game with an uninjured 1s string QB.  Conversely, either OSU's 1st string QB is always healthy, or some 2nd or 3rd stringer springs forth from the primordial ooze as a fully-formed Heisman candidate.

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or serious? D-Mac showed he’s more than capable of leading the team. Obviously, Shea is our starter and deserves to be. But, D-MAC (tm pending) definitely seems like he’s been pushing shea for about a year now. Hell, look how each played in south bend last year.

Yes, just read an article on Saturdaydownsouth.com about how Fields is seriously being pushed by Gunnar Hoak.

Looks like Fields is having a hard time hitting any open receivers.

Im sure Fields will end up starting, but I’d be a bit concerned if I’m a Buckeye and it’s 2+ weeks until the season starts and there’s reports saying he is struggling.

Pretty sure this is nothing more than "coach-speak" in regards to the QB competition.  Remember last year around these parts?  Shea Patterson was getting pushed REAL hard by both Joe Milton and Dylan Mcafferty and was struggling to hold them off.  Except in reality he wasnt - Harbaugh wanted Shea to WORK for the starting job and not just take it for granted it was his.

Day is doing the same thing with Fields according to my Buckeye friends connected to the program.
