OT Saturday Night Drinking thread

Submitted by M Go Dead on
What is everyone drinking this fine spring Saturday? My girlfriend made a big pitcher of melon balls, which I'm not a huge fan of, but it allows me to quote Archer a bunch. Which also eventually annoys her.

Madison is concentrating on Brooklyn Sorachi Ace. Nice sort of spicy ale. I've been spending time with Toppling Goliath pseudo sue lately. Worthwhile if you can find it out of Iowa. Long day of looking for garden flowers. But if her beds aren't right, neither is mine. Cheers.

Weather's warming up, so I'm weaning off the dark beers, but it's still not summer beer time. Still having my hotbox browns, into Franziskaner, and Purple Gang Pilsners now. Johnnie and ginger ale, later with a cigar because it's so smooth.

So far it has been Revolution A Little Crazy and Crystal Hero then James E Pepper 1776 Rye Barrel Aged Brown Ale. Not sure what next. Maybe a Short's Huma Lupa Licious ...

Oberon tonight visiting back in MI. But I had some Heady Topper last week (from the can of course) and it lived up to the hype. Delicious.

and can be debilitating.   i will skip the joke about hookers and blow being contra-indicated for treatment.

when mine was bad i did a lot of stretching and lightened up considerably on certain lifts.  i also stopped playing football, and that helped a bunch.

In my arm. Sometimes it's completely dead for a while and that freaks me out. I've even considered going to a witch doctor (chiropractor), but I'm not ready to take that leap of faith. Losing weight and doing a ton of stretching helps. So do deep tissue massages. Unfortunately I chose beauty over strength when picking a bride.

I was going to say "get the surgery" but all cases are different. I tried the stretching/chiro/ibuprofen thing for 6 months. Sucked. Had the L5/S1 done in June of 2004 and it saved my life. Surgery is a decent option in many cases. Now I parasail in my free time and enjoy a nice career pogo-sticking at carnivals.

that would tingle and/or go numb, and the lower back was pretty bad.  i used to lay on my back on the floor in my office and read reports, etc with my legs drawn up.  slept on the floor similarly at home for a while.  i did consider not playing, but by being pretty disciplined with what i mentioned above, the back came around.  i really hope you can avoid surgery and the necessity of the pills.  kudos to you for the weight loss, i bet that has to help.

and finding a good chiro i think can make a big difference.  i know a lot of people who have gotten legit and long-lasting relief from doing that.

I'm taking a shot of Jack whenever the Cavs get away with something or get a freebie.... Just started the second quarter and I've taken my first Tylenol and have the Gatorade next to my bed!

To BBQ is low and slow long time cooking at a low temp. To grill, especially a steak, is higher heat, shorter time looking for a sear and all that. It is semantics, but some do get very upset about it. Similarly is if someone tells me to sweat some onions, I do it very differently than if I was asked to saute them. but many people use them interchangeably and they largely mean the same thing.
