I hope Clemson wins by 400. And I dislike Clemson.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:39 PM ^
Honestly, I don't care about this game. I'm done worrying about other teams' performance including OSU.

Hell no! screw them just like MSU and ND
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:40 PM ^
Even LeBron hates Ohio.

Haahhahhhaahahaha...ha...haha...ha. Oh, you're serious. No, I don't. I hope Clemson beats them so bad they have to roll the score board over to zeroes again. If they need to institute negatives that'd be great.

Clemson needs to come out and punch Ohio in the neck. Too soon?

you did there.

If Michigan consistently wins 11 or 12 games a year, we would have respect, regardless of how strong the Big Ten is. If we want respect, we need to win ourselves.

Comparing Michigan to Boise State is the definition of false equivalency. If we win all of our games we will play for a national championship. OSU would have this year. In a hypothetical 4 team playoff, Michigan State would have been in at 12-1 this year.
January 3rd, 2014 at 9:47 PM ^
Ohio being jumped by Baylor and/or a 1 loss Alabama team. To root against one's conference is just dumb. Everyone hoping the B1G loses every game outside of Michigan sounds so ignorant and Sparty-like.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:14 PM ^
You are missing the point, if there are 3 or more undefeated teams, which 2 do you think will go to the championship game? With everything else being equal, the two teams from the better conference.
January 3rd, 2014 at 7:36 PM ^
Yes, it can. Unless it's a toxic great lake that's been set on fire from a burning couch via EL and burns from Cleveland to Cbus. WORST STATE EVER.

Definitely laughed at wisconsin losing because I hate everything about them. The johnny-come-latelys who have had a pretty consistent history in being terrible pre 1990s.
I did for minnesota as well since, believe it or not, they're still a rival. Remember that feeling you had in 2005?
Only reason I wanted nebraska to lose is because of past reasons which I think don't need to be dicussed again. That and abdullah has a big mouth and needed to get punched around a bit.
All petty reasons but the goals here are to win the B1G Championship and go to the Rose Bowl. What I think the goals SHOULD be (being it's 2014, not 1988) are dominating this conference exclusively and shooting for a national championship every year.
Yes, I know we are years away from that.

Anyone who ever roots for Ohio really doesn't get what being a Michigan fan is all about.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:53 PM ^
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:55 PM ^
It's 180 degrees the other way. Sometimes, getting what being a Michigan fan is all about means rooting for Ohio. Ali needed Frazier, the Yankees needed the Brooklyn Dodgers, and we need Ohio. The rivalry is as much a part of Michigan as the winged helmet.
All that said, tonight, not only no but hell no. We need them good, not great, and also screw the reputation of the conference for now because I can't stand Delany's hubris. We don't need the conference to look good until we look good.
January 3rd, 2014 at 7:18 PM ^
the conference needs Michigan to be good in order for the conference to be good. . .

This game is of zero consequence as far as I can see it. I won't be watching that's all I can tell you.

Even though its OSU and I hate them, I still want to see them win so it can be another feather in the Big Ten's cap.
And for all of the people that rag on the SEC for some sort of faux dominance, you should want OSU to win too. The more big bowl games the Big Ten can win (especially against perennially wishy-washy Clemson) the better it will be for the conference as a whole.
Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl wins coupled with Nebraska winning and Iowa playing LSU close will go a long way towards changing perceptions.
January 3rd, 2014 at 7:00 PM ^
Exactly this. At some point (hopefully very soon), we'll be sitting on the bubble to get into the playoffs. B1G winning BCS games helps the image of the conference which in turn could push us into the playoffs when we're fighting for spot against a comparible team from a different conference due to strength of schedule. As much as I HATE rooting for OSU, them winning tonight could help us in the future.

I'm rooting for Ohio State; I frequently do.
And I am also thinking about how much we could have used Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins on our team, before the coaching change rumor mill helped them make up their minds to go to Clemson.
I'll be rooting for OSU, but I don't think they will win, without Roby and without Spence, and with 20 guys suffering from the flu.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:55 PM ^
No. Hell no.
The hell with conference "prestige". No chance I'm cheering for Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes.

It would be good for the conference, and I always have the hunch that Clemson is dirty as hell.

I hate both Clmeson and OSU. Therefore, I will be rooting for a meteor to hit the stadium.

January 3rd, 2014 at 6:59 PM ^
Oh hell no -- I want them to get destroyed, like every game they play (same goes for MSU and ND).
