OT: Real Madrid-Manchester United Match Tailgate
Hey guys,
I know plenty of you on here despise soccer (see the comments sections of Brian's (fantastic) USMNT posts), but for those who do appreciate the world's game and happen to be going to the soccer game on Saturday (or just want to come hang out and tailgate) please come and see us. My friend and I are starting an American Outlaws chapter in Ann Arbor; this is just a way for us all to introduce ourselves and have a good time. Whether you have any interest of joining AO or not, you're more than welcome to come. We'll have beer but I don't expect it to last all day so come early and/or BYOB. Also as long as we can find a grill we'll have food, too. I anticipate we'll be on the golf course around 11am or so -- I'll post on our facebook page a gps screenshot of our location once we're there.

UPDATE: It has been brought to my attention that the golf course will not be open for parking. We will post-up at Pioneer, most likely. Check the Facebook page (linked above) for our specific location on Saturday.
Hope to see you there!
Sean
seems like a good time to be had.
if your crew is anything like the green street hooligans I am down...
love,
jdon
PS. did anyone else ever fight club while in Ann Arbor? I can remember a couple nights outside of parties, with huge circles, and people taking turns fist fighting. It was awesome; it was righteous.
I figured there would already be an American Outlaws chapter in Ann Arbor.
Haha...The number of people who have said that to us is quite hilarious, actually. I guess you could say that's half the reason we're doing it. The AO-Detroit chapter was in Livonia until very recently (they've since moved to Detroit proper) so it was a bit unnecessary to have two so close together (and against AO rules, as well). Now that they have moved so far away, we figured it was time.
I don't know that people hate soccer on here as much as you think. I love soccer and grew up playing it but I do not want to read about the U.S. men's international team when I come to a Michigan sports blog. Good on you for trying to get people more invested locally in soccer.
Fun fact....if anyone happened to read that article on mgoblue or on mlive the other day about how the Michigan soccer team surprised two elderly guys while they were eating with tickets for the Man U Real Madrid game...they did it partially on behalf of my cousin David who was a marine. My facebook was blowing up about it with how excited some of my family was.
Very cool, thanks for sharing.

... That guy looks like a white walker with those eyes.
I, for one, appreciate Brian's efforts to educate the masses, and I enjoyed the world cup much more than I usually do because I had an idea of what our opponents are like.
Agreed wholeheartedly. I noticed someone already downvoted my original post. LOL. People are scared of soccer becoming popular and that is absolutely hilarious to me.
Section 23, row 34 - 4 seats. Good seats. Were very expensive. Email me and we can talk price. [email protected]
I find Fingerle to be very convenient and easy access to the east side of town via Division and it avoids a lot of traffic getting in and out.
Is everyone going to be riding Harley's in the club?
I heard that the golf course will not be open to public for the soccer match. Not sure if true or not, but might want to double check.
It is, unfortunately, true. CodeBlue was kind enough to point this out to me. We will be at Pioneer, most likely. Check the Facebook page (which I linked above) if you're interested in coming -- I'll post a screenshot of my GPS when we get there.
Where are you guys seeing that the course will be closed? On the website it says that the golf course parking will be open, weather permitting.

Looks like golf course parking is open for the game. It is weather permitting though and, given the forecast for the week, it will probably be too wet for them to allow it.
Thanks for the info. I've been curious about a local AO chapter as until now the closest one is in Detroit. I figured there was enough interest locally to support a chapter.
Definitely will have to stop by... Still hoping for the golf course but who knows with the weather this week
I'll be there. I'll try and seek you guys out and stop by.
Cool man. Who are you rooting for, though? CR7 username and United avi.....lol.
Saw this map for the game on Saturday and construction issues
