OT: Oregon Adds 6th QB, FCS Star and 5th Year Transfer Vernon Adams
A couple of notes here
- Six QBs at a top 5 level program? Outrageous! There will be hurt feelings of existing QBs! How dare they.
- Probably says Braxton Miller is not headed to Oregon - that would be 7 QBs. Doesn't mean he can't go to FSU ... or stay at OSU.
- I recall EWU playing very early last year (first game of the year?) because we had an open thread and people were talking about the red field and how their QB looked pretty damn sweet.
- Has to be a tiny club of FCS player graduating to a FBS program in his last year; and certainly tinier for it to happen to a top 5 type of program.

Eight days after Adams, Eastern Washington's prolific junior quarterback, returned from his official visit to Oregon, he decided early Monday to spend some more time on UO's campus next fall by joining the Ducks as a fifth-year graduate transfer.
With the move from Cheney, Washington, to Eugene, Adams will become possibly the first quarterback to transfer for his final season "up" a level, from the NCAA's Football Championship Subdivision to its Bowl Subdivision. In doing so, he places a big bet on whether he'll emerge from Oregon's six-wide competition to succeed NFL-bound and Heisman-winning quarterback Marcus Mariota as the starter.
The quarterback battle will go on without him in the meantime, with junior Jeff Lockie, sophomores Ty Griffin and Taylor Alie, redshirt freshman Morgan Mahalak and true freshman Travis Waller, an early college enrollee, all earning reps in spring practice in April.
Adams passed for 110 touchdowns, 10,438 yards and 31 interceptions while completing 64.8 percent of his attempts in his three seasons as EWU's starter and added 11 rushing touchdowns. He led EWU to an upset of Oregon State in Corvallis in 2013 and passed for seven touchdowns in a 59-52 loss at Washington last fall.

This was pretty much a forgone conclusion quite a while ago. I was not surprised. I am guessing they can be pretty persuasive up there in Eugene. Ultimately, it's a great fit for both sides.

Several schools have 6 or more QBs.

Lol.
247 needs to update that roster, but keep #1 the same.
It says Da'Mario Jones is from NJ, I thought he was from MI.

You are correct on Jones. Westland, MI.

M will likely have 6 scholarship QBs in 2016: Morris, Speight, O'Korn, Gentry, Malzone, and a true freshman.

Oregon is getting a great player in Adams. My friend's cousin is Eastern Washington's star WR (Cooper Kupp) and I went with him to a couple of games last year (we live in Montana... there's not a whole lot going on out here so FCS football is a good time).
Anyway, Vernon Adams is a beast when he is healthy and he could thrive in that offense at QB or RB.

Kids seems legit. Never thought Miller would head West, but that QB competition is going to be intense in Eugene.

This is good for Oregon.

The Horror MVP transferring to RichRod's WVU for one more year, isn't it?

Armani Edwards. He could have done it. In 2007, he was second to only Dixon as a top spread QB, IMO.

Although the latest posted is only junior year highlights, there is a YouTube channel in his name (probably him) with some select EWU highlights, if you've not seen him play (I've caught a few games on ESPN when they shown FCS play - he's pretty damn good, from what I've seen):

I forgot reason #5 - Oregon visits EL and bringing in a 3 year starter who played a PRETTY decent Washington team last year (Oregon State sucked) and dominated without the same tools he will get at Oregon would help their chances.
