OT- Official Sideline Hat
I'm not sure if anyone else here has purchased the new official player sideline hat, but I just got mine and the three yellow adidas stripes on the bill are way off-centered and it makes the hat look crooked on my head whenever I put it on. I was wondering if this is a common problem/design flaw or if I should get another one.

Clearly we were better off with the hats made by children in south Asian sweatshops. Why oh why would anyone leave Nike?

Brodie you mean southeast asia dont you? Because Adidas has the southwest asian market all locket up and Nike is southeast. Don't you go spreading your generization there it's pretty much like the OSU-Mich rivarly down there.

Adidas sweatshops actually are in China, which is more central-east Asia. But you're right, whenever a worker from an Adidas sweatshop runs into a Nike kid a fight breaks out. And then they pass out from exhaustion.

I have the white one and I noticed the same thing, the stripes are little off kilter. But I dont care, no one else should be staring that long at my head.

It's probably just shoddy craftsmanship.
The screen prints on my student shirt from last season (Adidas) are off-center and slanted; ditto for 2007 (Nike).

The three stripes in the center look weird. They just sort of... end. I'm not a fan.
I don't think it would look good, but I wonder what a hat that looks like the winged helmet would look like. It could look pretty bad but I'd almost certainly still buy it.

I can't be sure without seeing it in person, but from what I can tell from the the two pictures on the website, it doesn't look very good. I think that might partially be because the colors look far too bright (they look garish to me). I think a slightly more understated hat with slightly thinner lines might look better. The wings could use some small adjustment in placement (something that I can't quite put my finger on looks "off" about them).

Yeah, I actually tried this on last year and although it doesn't look as bad in person as it does on the website, it actually looks really retarded when you put it on your head. My dad went to the game with me and he was laughing at me when I put it on. i don't think I've ever seen anyone actually wearing it around.

Yeah, I agree. The sideline hat should simply be a maize block M (updated, of course, as we no longer use such a generic font) on a blue hat. The current one is far too busy.

Brodie, the hat Bo is wearing is the traditional hat I grew up with. I do not like the busy hats, but i always liked the generic font much better than the updated fatter block M in your links.

I don't think we can use the thinner M as a logo, the font is just too generic. The current M is used on all official university things... like this billboard for UM-Dearborn.

That should be our official M, too. the Adidas M is way too thick. Nike messed it up at the end, too. The hats the baseball team wears with the yellow underbills are absolutely terrible.

I love it. If anyone is looking to get a new hat, FWIW. It fits nice - a lot like the franchise style hat. I preferred the adjustable (which I usually hate) over the flex fit. The flex fit never fit tight enough on my head.

Your construction, if read grammatically, reads that the hat looks crooked whenever you put your head on. Not trying to be a grammar cop, just saying that if read literally your sentence imparts a funny image.

I bought this one, plain white with the blue block M and slight maize outline. Also has Michigan written across the back. I really like it, nice and simple. This is the structured/fitted hat but it stretches a little bit so it should be a nice fit.

I have the M white hat with "ESPN College Gameday" on the back tab and i wear it constantly, notably the golf course and all barbeques at my brother's house since he's a Domer. Spritz some SprayNWash on the sweat stains and wash it in the top rack of the dishwasher and it's brand new again. Me & Les Miles, we get it about hats. White rules.

I got the new sideline hat and my stripes are on center. Sweatshops tend to mess up every couple hats.
