OT: Notre Dame's Louis Nix Transfer Speculation
I normally don't like rumors based on tweets, but I figured I would post this anyways. Apparently there is speculation that ND defensive tackle Louis Nix plans on transferring from ND based on his recent twitter activity. Given the recent trouble ND has had keeping players on board, it doesn't seem far fetched.
His tweets:
“Hopping on the Delta and might never come back. #FLBoy,”
and
“Still at ND...blah.”

UPDATE (kinda): He's back at ND, said some equivocal things about whether he will stay untill the fall.
"I'm here now," Nix said Wednesday. "You see me."
So he will be there, say, come September?
"Should be," Nix replied.

I'd like to believe it's true, since he starts at NT, but it just sounds like a kid caught up in the pressure.

Simply sounds pissed that he gotta passed up as first string in the spring. Combine that with his line-mate leaving, and having to wipe the spittle of an irate red-faced coach off your face every day, and I might vent a little too.

It sounds like he regrets saying what he said on twitter, but that doesn't mean it wasn't true. There's a reason he went to twitter and said what he said - if he was 100% happy he wouldn't have done that.
Now, that doesn't mean he's going to leave, and if he does, it doesn't mean he'll leave this year. But that's a kid that's not thrilled to be at ND.

he was demoted, as one of his back ups, Kona, I belive, has been playing very well during spring and pushed Nix down the depth chart. He tweeted something and then deleted it, and showed up to practice the next day. I think I'll put out another update on ND sometime next week and I'll try to find out more about it and include that.

Even if he goes back, it's obvious that he isn't a happy camper right now. Kelly can't be happy about this, either. If Nix was an employee, he would be fired from most jobs for doing this. Since coaches need every player they can get right now, Kelly is probably having to kiss his butt to keep him.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
He said on Twitter that he might not come back. Even with a purple-faced boss, I find it hard to believe that is something that could get one fired from the vast majority of jobs.

I sure hope they have this guy hosting top recruiting talent during the upcoming season.
