Packers look good.
September 8th, 2011 at 8:49 PM ^
Well Aaron Rodgers looked pretty unstoppable on that drive. Adding Ryan Grant back into the mix and the Packers look like a great team on that small sample size. Should be a great game.
September 8th, 2011 at 8:57 PM ^
Saints fumbled earlier and Packers recovered. This has the potential to get ugly fast.
September 8th, 2011 at 8:58 PM ^
I am not even watching the NFL game, at least as my primary game. I am watching the OSUc/Arizona game simply because nothing is better than college football.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
Wow. To each his own. But you are watching a vastly inferior product (not to mention teams that don't even appear to be evenly matched).
I'll watch a good Big Ten game over the NFL any day, but sloppy, non-conference September football between the Big 12 and Pac 12 is a bit of a turnoff. The exhibition season, longer camp and more player experience really lets the NFL shine earlier in its respective season. College players generally need a few games to get their feet wet and deliver cleaner, higher-quality football.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
NFL is by far superior. The players execute their assignments perfectly, just like Colston and the Saints Defense.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
Well, of COURSE the NFL players do that. They are professionals and are expected to do so. I don't disagree with you at all, but college is still way more fun to watch.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:57 PM ^

Longtime Lion fans might disagree.
Seriously, while I agree that NFL players are more technically proficient, that doesn't make it a more interesting game for me to watch. I love the unpredictability of college football. Players come and go, rosters are in constant flux and unexpected new stars/teams emerge. The constant is the traditions and pagentry, which I enjoy a lot more than the NFL experience, which is largely the same (with the same Jock Jams over the PA) in every stadium.
(Also, I like the college rules better, like requiring only one foot inbounds and stopping the clock to move the chains.)
September 8th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
I would rather watch the Rose Bowl than the Super Bowl. The unpredictability of college ball, the student sections, the bigger stadiums, the variety of offenses and defenses...all of those things can't be matched by the pros, no matter how many freak athletes and students of the game are on a roster.
September 8th, 2011 at 10:39 PM ^
True in some regards, but there ain't a lot of pagentry to Oklahoma State vs. Arizona.
September 9th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
Can no one tell what sarcasm is?
September 9th, 2011 at 10:15 AM ^
If they weren't watching the game they may have just skipped over the sarcasm.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:25 PM ^
I will take college over any NFL game any day. The atmosphere alone of a college football game makes me want to watch college over NFL. Don't get me wrong, I like the NFL, but MUCH rather prefer college games.
September 8th, 2011 at 11:00 PM ^
well, im negative points in this early FF season, thanks colston
edit: what the fuck, i have both graham and colston and i have 3.7 points so far, this game sucks
September 8th, 2011 at 9:02 PM ^
I've seen to start a season in awhile...and they still won the Super Bowl. If they can keep the drive, they could be real good. Probably come down to Rodgers pushing them or not. They have QB flavors of the day hyped as the next big thing by the media, but he really gives the feel as a successor to Brady/Manning.

And a TD instead of a FG there is big with a 4 point spread. But it's not over. I get the feeling this is going to be a high scoring game.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:02 PM ^
in here too. LOL at Zona corners talking smack to Justin Blackmon.
Also, Aaron Rodgers looking really good so far. Get after him this year Suh.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:04 PM ^
At least in college football every kickoff wont' end in a touchback.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:10 PM ^
have you seen our KO coverage team? Maybe wouldn't be the worst thing ever.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:14 PM ^
Over Troy, either.

But yeah, it kinda sucks. If not for the onside you might as well put it at the 20.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
The coaches can stop everyone's breath-holding on TW's kickoff duties any time they want. And despite what Hoke said, I'll be surprised if they don't eventually do it. It just makes no sense to have him out there.

said KZoo Central instead of Western. Must be some serious problems and infighting going on there....

I'm not surprised.

It would be great to see Borges implement this later during the season (Oklahoma St. has their QB in the pistol with two sidecars and a deep back). It is a really neat fusion of the wishbone and pistol, and they have run some great power plays out of this set. It would be awesome to see Denard in this attack with Hopkins, Shaw and Fitz.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
I'll take defensive coordinators who look like morons named G. Robinson for $200 Alex.
It appears having 2 G's in your name doesn't help either. What are the Saints doing on d? What a debacle.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:28 PM ^
Looks....all...too...familiar....

Denard returning punts for the Saints
September 8th, 2011 at 9:41 PM ^
September 8th, 2011 at 9:44 PM ^
Wow he's fast. Like to see him and denard race
September 8th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
I will save you the suspense,Denard wins.
September 8th, 2011 at 10:48 PM ^
but not Denard fast. He runs 4.4. He looks fast because he's really small (5'6" 185 lbs, though his build is very compact).
September 8th, 2011 at 10:35 PM ^
That longest kickoff return is tied. What a return that was!
September 8th, 2011 at 10:36 PM ^
That is all.

He was spectacular at Kentucky. Didn't get much love because of the school he played for, but nobody who watches a lot of SEC football is surprised by what he is doing tonight.
September 8th, 2011 at 10:47 PM ^
Something I make a point of not doing. Just as my personal vendetta against ESPN.
September 8th, 2011 at 10:54 PM ^
In 2 years.
September 8th, 2011 at 10:54 PM ^
You go Chucky. Punch him.
September 8th, 2011 at 10:56 PM ^
I'm forced to watch with no sound and all I saw was chuck throw a gut punch to someone.
September 8th, 2011 at 11:01 PM ^
From behind too long, Chuck didn't appreciate it, and gave him an uppercut...down low.
September 8th, 2011 at 10:59 PM ^
But a good "drop" by the Saints, as they were about to lose 15 yards and giving it to Green Bay.
September 8th, 2011 at 11:05 PM ^
Change the color of Their facemasks? I seem to remember grey. Is this Nike combat uni for them?
September 8th, 2011 at 11:08 PM ^
They've had green facemasks since I started watching them in the mid-90s.
September 8th, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
That was a test, then, or something.
