OT- NFL Helmets combined with ncaa team colors
So 247 sports combined the colors of each local college football team with the NFL teams helmets. Results are mixed, some pretty cool, some not as cool. Notice that some teams are missing though... Cough cough MSU lol. I know OT season is supposed to be over, but thought this was worth sharing!

I like the Cowboys, Saints, and Dolphins versions. Lions don’t deserve the maize and blue.
September 5th, 2019 at 6:28 AM ^
Saints should consider a change. That helmet made too much sense.
September 5th, 2019 at 12:47 PM ^
The Lions helmet does look good in our colors though. It's an improvement.

Two thoughts: one, why would the Bears use DePaul instead of Northwestern and two, that Florida/Jags combo reminds me of a salmon lure.
September 5th, 2019 at 12:06 AM ^
I'll take "schools without football teams" for $400, Alex.
What are DePaul and St John's?
September 5th, 2019 at 12:11 AM ^
Also, why would they pair the Falcons with Georgia when both Georgia Tech and Georgia State both play in the same city, and not 60+ miles away?
September 5th, 2019 at 10:06 AM ^
Probably so they can make the Falcons helmets look like the old Falcons helmets.
EDIT: He bothered to make the Titans in both Vandy and UT colors, so why not UGA and GT for the Falcons? Applies to Northwestern/Bears also.

Maybe MSU could make an appearance if they combined the colors of the local college football team with the county prison garb.
September 5th, 2019 at 12:11 AM ^
Logo ought to be red for the color of the lock.
September 5th, 2019 at 6:12 AM ^
They gave themselves two opportunities to use MSU for the Lions, but went with the smarter option both times.
September 5th, 2019 at 7:44 AM ^
Orange and a new Black?
September 5th, 2019 at 1:46 AM ^
Bengals and Bills are sweet.
September 5th, 2019 at 4:55 AM ^
Browns and OSU seemed pointless.
September 5th, 2019 at 5:54 AM ^
That's probably why they seem perfectly matched I guess...
September 5th, 2019 at 10:42 AM ^
The browns’ color scheme was based on the bowling green (BGSU) color scheme. Why Paul brown did this — ??♂️. And he coached at tOSU.

Disrespeckt. ??????
September 5th, 2019 at 6:28 AM ^
Doesn't even look like Atlanta's helmet changed.
September 5th, 2019 at 6:42 AM ^
The Buccaneer logo is way too big. They changed their Uni's a few years ago and they are just hideous in every way.
September 5th, 2019 at 10:23 AM ^
Also, Tallahassee is a long way from Tampa, but USF is right there, why didn't they do that one?
September 5th, 2019 at 12:06 PM ^
Same with the Jags, that black/gold color change on the helmets is just awful.
September 5th, 2019 at 6:48 AM ^
The Green Bay Packers / Wisconsin Badgers confused me with UGA.
The Dolphins and Texans were my favorites.
Sparty should have had the Loins helmet. Both are trash.
September 5th, 2019 at 6:59 AM ^
Most don’t look too bad. Kind of an interesting concept to see
September 5th, 2019 at 7:17 AM ^
Designer was all over the place on logo placement. That helmet was difficult due to the strap location but man, some logos way too close to the front, others too high or too low.
The Buffalo one was incredible. Even the Titans/Vandy look was good.
Agree on why the Jets got stuck with Rutgers while the Giants had St. John's? Why did Eagles have Nova rather than Temple? Why Bears had DePaul rather than NW?
Multiple NFL teams did multiple schools (Cowboys/Titans). Funny how they didn't do MSU for the Lions...granted EL is much farther than A2 is to Detroit though.
September 5th, 2019 at 8:00 AM ^
Why didn’t Philly use Temple? How about why didn’t Philly use Penn St.? I think the Bears would have looked cool using Illinois also.
September 5th, 2019 at 9:31 AM ^
Penn State is closer to Pittsburgh than it is to Philadelphia. But it's not particularly close to either.
September 5th, 2019 at 9:22 AM ^
"Funny how they didn't do MSU for the Lions...granted EL is much farther than A2 is to Detroit"
It seems more designed than funny, they did UTenn as a second for the Titans and the distance from Knoxville-Nashville is more than double EL-Detroit and Longhorns as second for the Cowboys and Austin-Dallas is even further.
(Although the way the two played last weekend, Middle Tennessee State probably deserves it more than the Volunteers.)
September 5th, 2019 at 7:23 AM ^
You know it's a day of the year when somebody releases NFL helmet concept art.
September 5th, 2019 at 7:42 AM ^
The Chargers should immediately start wearing these.
September 5th, 2019 at 7:53 AM ^
Broncos + CU = WMU??
September 5th, 2019 at 11:59 AM ^
I thought the same thing; those Denver helmets look just like Western's.
September 5th, 2019 at 8:04 AM ^
These are all pretty cool. I particularly like Pittsburgh and Tennessee (orange). And completely agree with a comment above, the lions do not deserve the maize and blue.
September 5th, 2019 at 8:05 AM ^
Eagles should definitely be temple over Nova. It’s closer and FBS
Navy should have replaced Georgetown
split Maryland and Navy between the redskins and Ravens

The Giants and Jets both play and practice in New Jersey, but the Giants got St. John's, a New York City school without a football team since the 2002 season ended. LINK At least the Jets got a school (Rutgers) based in New Jersey where the first college "football" game was played in 1869. (Yes, there are those who'd argue that Rutgers has been without a football team since the end of the 2014 season.)
Poor Syracuse, the school that gave us the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy (Ernie Davis), the school that's currently ranked 21st in the AP College Football Poll and the school that once marketed itself as "New York's College Team". They get no respect when it comes to redesigning NFL helmets.
.
September 5th, 2019 at 9:16 AM ^
New York University (the Violets) Fordham (Rams) and Columbia (Lions) also get no respekt
September 5th, 2019 at 8:59 AM ^
Florida St is not the local team for Tampa Bay. I don't like it.
September 5th, 2019 at 9:13 AM ^
Cinci and Baltimore worked well
September 5th, 2019 at 10:25 AM ^
I feel like they made a number of mistakes though. They often used the college in the same city instead of the college that most of the NFL fans root for. For example Buffalo should probably be Syracuse, Philly should probably be PSU, Chicago should probably be Illinois, Washington should probably be either Maryland or VT, Carolina should probably be Clemson, Indianapolis should probably be ND, & Kansas City should probably be Mizzou.

There is no chance that Bears fans know that the University of Illinois even exists let alone cheer for. The 'local' Chicago team is Northwestern but I'll bet most Bears fans cheer for Notre Dame.
September 5th, 2019 at 9:50 PM ^
There is no chance that Bears fans know that the University of Illinois even exists let alone cheer for.
I'd have to imagine there are more Bears/Illinois fans than Bears/DePaul fans. I didn't even know DePaul had a football team. I mean Lovie Smith did coach for the Bears. They might not like them, but I'm pretty sure they more about them than DePaul.
The 'local' Chicago team is Northwestern but I'll bet most Bears fans cheer for Notre Dame.
I could see that. But, it sure as hell isn't DePaul.

Not so sure about the maroon and yellow of Minnesota, everyone knows that real vikings always wore purple.
September 5th, 2019 at 12:04 PM ^
As a Vikings fan, I don't like it, at all. But, I get the reason why those colors were chosen.
I thought the Seahawks and Cardinals helmets looked good.
September 5th, 2019 at 5:14 PM ^
I.....
.....like a lot of them.
September 5th, 2019 at 5:18 PM ^
Some of these are really cool. Some suck! But some are cool.
