OT- NFL Helmets combined with ncaa team colors

Submitted by Eskimoan on September 4th, 2019 at 11:42 PM

So 247 sports combined the colors of each  local college football team with the NFL teams helmets.  Results are mixed, some pretty cool, some not as cool.  Notice that some teams are missing though... Cough cough MSU lol.  I know OT season is supposed to be over, but thought this was worth sharing!

The Green Bay Packers / Wisconsin Badgers confused me with UGA.

The Dolphins and Texans were my favorites.

Sparty should have had the Loins helmet. Both are trash.

Designer was all over the place on logo placement. That helmet was difficult due to the strap location but man, some logos way too close to the front, others too high or too low.

The Buffalo one was incredible. Even the Titans/Vandy look was good.

Agree on why the Jets got stuck with Rutgers while the Giants had St. John's? Why did Eagles have Nova rather than Temple? Why Bears had DePaul rather than NW?

Multiple NFL teams did multiple schools (Cowboys/Titans). Funny how they didn't do MSU for the Lions...granted EL is much farther than A2 is to Detroit though.

"Funny how they didn't do MSU for the Lions...granted EL is much farther than A2 is to Detroit"

It seems more designed than funny, they did UTenn as a second for the Titans and the distance from Knoxville-Nashville is more than double EL-Detroit and Longhorns as second for the Cowboys and Austin-Dallas is even further.
(Although the way the two played last weekend, Middle Tennessee State probably deserves it more than the Volunteers.)

The Giants and Jets both play and practice in New Jersey, but the Giants got St. John's, a New York City school without a football team since the 2002 season ended. LINK  At least the Jets got a school (Rutgers) based in New Jersey where the first college "football" game was played in 1869. (Yes, there are those who'd argue that Rutgers has been without a football team since the end of the 2014 season.)

Poor Syracuse, the school that gave us the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy (Ernie Davis), the school that's currently ranked 21st in the AP College Football Poll and the school that once marketed itself as "New York's College Team". They get no respect when it comes to redesigning NFL helmets.

I feel like they made a number of mistakes though.  They often used the college in the same city instead of the college that most of the NFL fans root for.  For example Buffalo should probably be Syracuse, Philly should probably be PSU, Chicago should probably be Illinois, Washington should probably be either Maryland or VT, Carolina should probably be Clemson, Indianapolis should probably be ND, & Kansas City should probably be Mizzou.

There is no chance that Bears fans know that the University of Illinois even exists let alone cheer for.

I'd have to imagine there are more Bears/Illinois fans than Bears/DePaul fans.  I didn't even know DePaul had a football team.  I mean Lovie Smith did coach for the Bears.  They might not like them, but I'm pretty sure they more about them than DePaul.

The 'local' Chicago team is Northwestern but I'll bet most Bears fans cheer for Notre Dame.

I could see that.  But, it sure as hell isn't DePaul.
