OT: NFL fans, which Michigan player do you want your team to draft this year?

Submitted by Broken Brilliance on April 24th, 2021 at 10:52 AM

We have a handful of players that should be drafted next weekend. Which franchise do you root for and would any Wolverines help them out? Any other prospects that you are hoping to land?

I am hoping for Nico, Mayfield or Evans to go to Green Bay.

I also heard that no one on the Buckeyes went to Justin Fields' birthday party and that's why he is below the other four qbs allegedly.

If the Falcons can trade back from 4, I’d be happy if they took Paye. He’s most certainly in Tier 1 of this draft’s EDGE talent along with Jaelan Phillips and Azeez Ojulari. If Chris Evans is on the board in the 6th round, I would be ecstatic if the Falcons chose him with one of their 6th round picks.

As a Lions fan I just hope they dont go to teams i just cant/wont root for like the Packers or Cowboys.

Selfishly id like to watch someone like Nico in Detroit but I wouldnt ultimately wish that fate upon him.

As both a Michigan and Lions fan my hope is that none of them get drafted by the Detroit franchise and can find their success with other franchises. But I do believe that Brad Holmes will point Detroit in the right direction. Some day.

Colts fan here. I would love to get Kwity but there's no way that's happening. I'd be happy if McGrone fell to us or even Ambry in the later rounds. But my luck we'll just pick more OSU players.

I hope that none of the better Michigan players get drafted by the Lions. Given the franchise's 40-year history of bypassing one prominent Michigan player after another with their early-round picks, there's a good chance I'll get my wish.

Assuming the Lions are now a better franchise with these changes at the top (ha-ha), maybe Nico, Paye or McGrone would be an asset to the Lions. Again, this is an assumption the Lions front office will change for the better. Yep, hard to undo now 64, less one bad season of mismanagement.

Colts fan. If Paye falls to 21 I wouldn't be against it, even if tackle is a much bigger need. I'm not sold on him as a slam dunk top 10-15ish pick though. 21 is early for Mayfield for this tackle class but maybe a trade back or the 2nd round. Would not mind Nico day 2, Chris Evans or Ambry day 3. I've seen Eubanks as a mid rounder and I don't know that he's really even draftable tbh.

Edit- somehow forgot McGrone as his biggest fan boy, i should be ashamed. I think he's super underrated and he's exactly what the Colts want in a linebacker. I think if he falls past the top 50-60 picks he will be a huge steal eventually.

Paye to the Bucs. No way in hell he’ll last that long on the board, but he would be a great addition. JPP’s contract is up next season, Suh is back on only a one year deal, and Will Gholston (yes, that Will Gholston) mans the other side. I think Paye would be a big upgrade from Gholston is he pans out in the league, and he would have a year to learn the ropes from some great linemen and work his way into the rotation before they all potentially left the following year.

Never, ever hurts to have depth on the defensive line. But like I said, he’ll be long gone by the time the Bucs pick, unless they felt crazy enough to move up.

Due to the poor utilization of... Everyone... and just how little it seems we saw of every guy entering the draft this year I feel much less invested in our guys than usual.  As in I can't even say I'm sad to see them go or am excited to see them at the next level because I literally have no idea what any of them can be.  So little sizzle and so much fizzle with all of them, mostly due to things outside their control.  They're all being drafted on potential rather than production.
