OT: Neil Devlin leaving the Denver Post

Submitted by echoWhiskey on

I know he's something of a cult hero to some on this site for his flowing locks, so wanted to relay that he had left the Denver Post. He was actually pretty great at his prep coverage and it will be missed.

Until he gets picked up by 24/7.

I will always remember him for his irrational optimism for the Colorado Avalanche's chances to win the Stanley Cup every year. But he was on top of the Denver area prep scene as others have mentioned. Best of luck to him.

I almost started this thread yesterday when the news came out. Devlin and a ton of others basically being cut by the Post as it streamlines and gets rid of the actual journalists that work there. Hairstyle aside, Devlin was a huge HS sports reporter and brought a lot of exposure to Colorado HS Sports for a long time. Fewer Devlins and more Wannabe 'insiders' with smartphones and Twitter accounts
