OT-Michigan wins Miss USA

I guessed James Whitley but oh well.

Miss Ohio looks like a truck stop! 

I was in Ohio recently for a graduation, and stopped at a truck stop for gas and a pit stop. While using the facilities, two young gentleman, about 17, wearing tuxes and tennis shoes, also avail themselves of the opportunity to use the facilities. I, being a "normal" person, wash my hands afterwards. These two fine men piss and run, mumbling to me on the way out "fuck washing your hands" and then proceed to purchase mountain dews. Yay prom in Ohio! End story.

I'm not saying I would completely chalk it up to her background, but I do think her ethnicity might be what pushes her over the edge to winning. She's Lebanese, Muslim, HOT, and way down to earth. I think all that on top of other things will get her that crown. Honestly I would never complain about the hottest girl in the Universe growing up 30 minutes from my hometown. 

And might have helped her win Miss USA more than Miss Universe.  I'm sure they took into account America isn't too popular right now, but it's hard to hate on us as a Country if we're sending an Arab-American contestant.  I don't know that it helps her other than maybe takes away some of the negative attitude any contestant from the US would get (fairly or unfairly...not talking politics, just talking image fact at the moment).  So it balances it rather than starting out from behind.  I wouldn't doubt that something Trump runs is calculating enough to take that into account (rather than leave it all up to those moronic judges).

Having said that, she more than deserved to win on her own merits. Though I am bias to U-M (and having grown up in Dearborn), I easily thought she was the prettiest far and away (wasn't really close), and had the most genuine charm of any of them. (And how often does the "best" person really win these things).  Found myself tuning in before the evening programs just to check her out, then stop when she gets "eliminated at the 15"...and she made the cut...well, I'll stop watching when they cut to 10....and she kept going...then DAMN, she's in the top 5!!  Her and 4 blondes.  And before I know it, they're down to 2, and I've watched the whole damn thing with my wife.

... I'm pretty sure a fanatical Islamic group is not touting a girl in a tiny bikini as the Islamic "ideal", regardless of family ties.  That article is everything you'd expect from a radical blogger (who apparently, and sadly, is a UM grad). 

This woman's Lebanese relatives were not in the contest.  She was, and she deserved to win or lose based on her own merits.  (And although I didn't watch the broadcast, from the photos others have posted in this thread, I would say she has pretty strong merits.).

BTW, I do agree with you that beauty pageants in general are distasteful and that we'd all be better off without them.  The same holds true for Donald Trump.

..based on the political allegiances of people several thousands of miles away is absurd.  You have no idea the ideals for which this girl stands, so please leave your narrow minded comments to the political boards.

For the record she is my 1st cousin.....From here its obvious that you're upset that shes Lebanese and muslim so you would like to tarnish her image by saying our family has links to Hizbollah. .Let me guess,  you read that garbage blog written by the bigot debbie schluesl or w/e her name is?  Let me answer that question for you. No her family does not have members in Hizbollah. You see Lebanon is kinda like America in that having the same last name does not automatically make you related..in fact she is not related to anyone mentioned in that article I can tell you that for a fact
