OT: Let’s Point and Laugh at PJ Fleck
Context: Minnesota has a top 10 passing offense per SP+, two NFL receivers, and the most efficient passing QB in the Big 10. Also a wildcat QB who averages about 5 ypc despite absolutely no throw threat. Winning either the Iowa or Wisconsin games sends the Gophers to the rose bowl for the first time since 1962.
Iowa game:
Punts from the Iowa 32 on fourth and long
Kicks a field goal from the Iowa 2.
Loses by 4.
Wisconsin game:
Up 7-0, punts on 4th and 2 from the Wisconsin 36
Down 10-7, runs a jet sweep on 3rd and 10 from the 50. Stuffed, punts.
Down 17-7, runs a jet sweep on 3rd and 10 from the Wisconsin 20. Stuffed, field goal. The subsequent kickoff is returned 49 yards and Wisconsin scores in two plays, effectively ending the game.
In conclusion, after witnessing an entire season of Gopher football from the stands, my dudes, PJ is a very loud Jim Tressel without the recruits to make Tresselball work. Minnesota will never sniff a West title again without Rutgers and Maryland on the schedule. People who want Harbaugh out are dumb, and anyone wanting PJ right now is dumber.

The gophers have Indiana-level talent, never go for it on fourth down, commit to a crappy run game to the detriment of their elite passing attack, and punt at the first sign of adversity. You can definitely lose to a team like that, but not because they tried harder, and certainly not because they’re well coached.

It's about the culture of the program, the coordinators and assistant coaches. Jim is a decent coach but getting paid 7.2 million or whatever needs to create a better culture, and hire better coordinators and assistant coaches.

this post is why everyone points and laughs at us, we just got our asses handed to us for the EIGHTH STRAIGHT YEAR and we have people making posts about PJ Fleck and laughing at Minnesota. At least their game mattered and had they won they would be in Indy, us? no that shit ended weeks ago. The level of arrogance our fanbase displays is beyond head scratching at times.
