Maybe it's time to give the guy a break.  Some of his antics are pretty funny, but being a lame duck coach and having something like this go on cannot be a very high point in his life.

Wow. I feel bad about making fun of him. Sounds like he's going through a rough time. I'm sure that having a brother pass away, being $25 million in debt, and going 1-2 over the first three weeks of the season makes for a pretty awful month.

That's rough. At least he did his best to stay happy in front of the media. I wouldn't want him as coach of my favorite team, but I think he'd be a pretty cool guy to meet. He reminds me of a family friend kinda.

Guy was heading back to Utah (?) to coach his alma mater in peace and quiet, idiot crashes his bike and I think he saw a team that he was close to and kids he was close to that had worked had and could possibly do some things and he would get one last huge payout before his golden years. What a world.

after the debacle that is Arkyville, that JLS lands on his feet and enjoys the rest of his time.  Coaching, fishing, chasing skirts, whatever he likes.

He's an odd duck, but he strikes me as a good guy, and someone I'd gladly buy a beer.

Coach Smith - this one's for you. Hope you turn it around.
