Sounds like his brother passed away Monday, which may explain his quasi-meltdown in his Monday press conference.

Maybe it's time to give the guy a break. Some of his antics are pretty funny, but being a lame duck coach and having something like this go on cannot be a very high point in his life.

Coldolences to JLS and his family. I will give him a 72-hour free pass from criticism in honor of his grief.

I think it is thread worthy, because OP isn't making fun of him. Knowing that JLS just lost a brother will pre-empt any more "haha JLS lulz" threads. Only an idiot would think it's okay to make fun of a guy who just buried his brother.

Wow. I feel bad about making fun of him. Sounds like he's going through a rough time. I'm sure that having a brother pass away, being $25 million in debt, and going 1-2 over the first three weeks of the season makes for a pretty awful month.

Pretty sure nobody will bash him about this.

That's rough. At least he did his best to stay happy in front of the media. I wouldn't want him as coach of my favorite team, but I think he'd be a pretty cool guy to meet. He reminds me of a family friend kinda.

after the debacle that is Arkyville, that JLS lands on his feet and enjoys the rest of his time. Coaching, fishing, chasing skirts, whatever he likes.
He's an odd duck, but he strikes me as a good guy, and someone I'd gladly buy a beer.
Coach Smith - this one's for you. Hope you turn it around.

It is almost like when Jim Varney died.
