I went to bed with 40 seconds left(had to be up by 8 the next day) and missed the entire thing. I turned on the sports radio and wondered why the hell the weren't talking UM-OSU.

It's just not the same without audio. The "THUMP" is the icing on the cake...

Sophomore year. Hanging out in a friend's apartment with a few buddies. I ask them to check the Pistons game, which they only did reluctantly as some heated Fifa matches were in progress. Less than one minute later all hell broke loose at the Palace, and pandemonium ensued in the apartment. We tossed around superlatives with reckless abandon while watching the umpteenth million slo-motion replay. Fifa was retired for the evening. And still, it only represents about 1/50th of my excitement level tomorrow when we're rushing the field in victory.

- the nerdy guy yellin and shit as the Pacers flood the stands and then realizes they're after him about 2 seconds too late and tries to bail

it was junior year before the game and we were getting up early to head down to columbus. i still remember john saunders saying after the incident that "Detroit fans are a bunch of punks" and basically criticizes the entire fanbase. i believe he apologized later on and clarified that he was only referencing those people involved and the players were just as much to blame. i still don't really like the guy to this day, bc of that and his general smugness.

the older generation had the jfk shooting as its signature moment for "remember where you were." my two examples of this are 9/11 and the malice at the palace. one of these events seems out of place.

I was at Fricanos in Muskegon getting some pizza with some friends and happened to glance up at the TV probably 30 seconds before it all went down. I was absolutely stunned, for basically the rest of the nite I called everyone I knew and told them to turn their TV to ESPN if they hadn't heard. It was wild.

Of course the next day Michigan got curbstomped by OSU.
