OT-ish: Eli Manning undercover as a walk on with Penn State football
A little comic relief: Eli Manning infiltrates Penn State football try outs disguised as a walk on. There are a few funny lines and his make up reminds me of Inspector Clouseau dressed up as the Hunchback of Notre Dame in "The Pink Panther Strikes Again." I think Jared Goff did the same thing a few years back. Will one of you more patient tech-savvy people post the actual video?

Good stuff chad

Yeah, but he was lucky he didn't get sacked a half dozen times.

Saw this earlier and it was very entertaining. Chad Powers rules!

The looks when he started dropping 50 yard dimes were priceless, and actually seemed like they genuinely didn't know who he was.

My favorite part was the end when everyone pretended to be surprised

Would've been better if James Franklin wasn't in on it.

Think fast, run fast.
this is awesome.

So I am guessing he was not good enough to make the travel squad, correct?

I disliked Eli when he was playing, but that was good stuff Chad.

I didn't expect much when I saw this was an ESPN video. I'm not a fan of theirs and I went in trying to find a reason to dislike this. I almost gave up when they went to Penn State and included Frames. But boy am I glad I stuck with it! This was really, really cool and funny. Eli was hilarious!

Good stuff! Reminds me of my favorite undercover athlete video:

Here's my favorite: Jeff Gordon buying a car and going on a test drive. I hate that it's a commercial for Pepsi but it's still pretty great.

"My mom was my coach."
"Forget it, son. That didn't work for Scott Frost and it's not gonna work for you."
September 19th, 2022 at 9:04 PM ^
Good thing he went to Penn State. He's not beating out Davis Warren.
September 19th, 2022 at 9:06 PM ^
That was fun to watch.

Eli is low key hilarious.

And all that while still wearing his wedding ring.

Funny, but I’m still not over the helmet catch.
September 20th, 2022 at 9:13 AM ^
That cost me some money.

The Manning’s are hilarious! Appear to be nice people as well.

Peyton's had some great outings on Saturday Night Live. He's in two of my all-time favorite skits.

Payton shoved his naked groin into a female trainers face, had UT try to blame it on a “black” player, then got her removed from the Olympic team. 2016 athletic article. He is a piece of shit. Have no reason to dislike Eli
September 20th, 2022 at 7:41 AM ^
Wow, didn't know this about him.
September 20th, 2022 at 10:50 AM ^
I have two reasons to hate him. Not sure what Tom Brady thinks.
September 20th, 2022 at 11:57 AM ^
Wasn't Peyton Manning also caught red handed with steroids or some other performance enhancing drugs?

“I was homeschooled, my mom was my teacher and my coach”
Did you get good grades?
”no, she wasn’t very smart. Good coach though”
September 19th, 2022 at 9:56 PM ^
just showed that to my homeschooled kids, the 4 oldest boys being college or high school players right now. that line got a lot of laughs.
September 19th, 2022 at 9:50 PM ^
Goff did this too. Must have been weird for Penn State players to see a competent QB throw the ball without getting blown up!
September 19th, 2022 at 10:03 PM ^
Eli didn't seem to have much of a personality when he entered the NFL. Perhaps it was all that draft bullshit that kept him quiet, but he's since become a likeable guy.
September 19th, 2022 at 11:35 PM ^
Easily my favorite Manning.
September 20th, 2022 at 9:50 AM ^
Archie is a good guy, just from before modern tv coverage. The Manning family used to (still does?) run football camps in the summer. My wife's family is all Alabama alums, one of her uncles is a former Bama player - and played against Manning once (Bama won). His son tried to register for a Manning football camp the day signups opened, but missed the cut-off. His dad called the org. and left a message asking about getting on a wait list for cancellations, and didn't figure they'd hear back, so to needle them a bit (Manning played for Ole Miss), signed off with "Roll Tide".
Archie Manning personally called him back a few hours later and said they'd get him in and joked "even though you said 'Roll Tide'" and then found out they'd played each other and talked old football days for half an hour. Just a good family all around, from what I've heard.

This is funny, but it's been done a 100 times. Ex-pro basketball player dresses up as an old man or a dork and plays pickup basketball. Football is a little different. Would have been better had he worn the Uncle Rico headband.
September 20th, 2022 at 9:42 AM ^
FWIW--looks like the original Uncle Rico Vic Viramontes is playing for UNLV at LB now. Bummed that guy didn't play for Michigan. I was looking forward to him throwing the ball over the mountains.
September 20th, 2022 at 2:29 PM ^
Guess it's a less impressive throw now.
September 20th, 2022 at 11:04 AM ^
Is this for the Eli’s Places show?
September 20th, 2022 at 12:49 PM ^
Chad Powers is now as legendary as Ron Mexico
September 20th, 2022 at 3:16 PM ^
Ok - let me get this straight. Eli Manning went "undercover" as a potential walk-on for PSU football.
Eli is 41 years old. Most walk-ons wouldn't be over 21.
How sharp is the coaching staff to not notice a difference?
September 20th, 2022 at 7:52 PM ^
Well, there isn't an age limit. Chris Weinke played (and won the Heisman!) at 28.
September 21st, 2022 at 7:14 AM ^
This makes me feel like a prude but I would have found ot funnier if Jared Goff had not already done this same bit.
September 21st, 2022 at 5:34 PM ^
Did someone say Inspector Clouseau? Eli couldn’t possibly do me justice. I am much too handsome and clever /s.
