OT - ESPN has Harbaugh Judge Judy fandom on front page

Submitted by wahooverine on

Yes we all know about Harbaugh and his dad's love and admiration for Judge Judy, manifested so magnificently in the well known video clip. I believe this is the first time that a mainstream outlet like ESPN has prominently featured this fact. Judge Judy's recent shout out to Jim on Twitter surely helped propel the story.  I guess it's not just Michigan fans and MGoBloggers who can't get enough of Jim's irresistable zaniness.  http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/116433/jim-harbaugh-a-happy-man-after-twitter-shout-out-from-judge-judy

I don't really care about Judge Judy or anything, I just am so happy knowing how much our rivals must hate this, and knowing that he is in all likelihood going to win and win a lot. And our rivals are going to hate him so much and not be able to do anything about it.

Media microscopes & megaphones. They'll find the smallest Harbaugh stuff and shout it to the rooftops. Good, bad, ugly and goofy. Sparty and Bucknuts ears will bleed, and they'll hate the attention (excepting the bad & ugly).

and I probably deserve it for being an elitist douche, but that fact that Harbaugh loves Judge Judy makes me like him just a little bit less.  Not a lot, from a 100% approval rating to 98%, but its there.

His virtues are myriad, but I can't get over liking Judge Judy.

I just don't like making drama out of other people's lives when it can be avoided.  Stuff like Judge Judy, entertainment news, realtiy TV, ESPN's breathless coverage of Brett Favre and Tiger Woods' infidelity, involves real people with real problems who are often going through the worst moments of their lives and I wish people would be content to leave them alone if possible.  Of course it is not always possible as these things can have broader implications, like athletes or comedians assutling people or politicans abusing their office.

people who agree to go on judge judy or maury povich are in it for the money. they're happy embellishing their issues and acting up in front of the cameras for a few bucks. anyone appearing on judge judy is having far from the worst moments of their lives. it's strictly entertainment - judge judy knows it, the plaintiffs/defendents know it, and the viewing audience knows it (or should).

entertainment news is just vapid.

paparazzi coverage of people's issues, on the other hand, is less-than-respectable by a country mile.

I'm sure you are right but I don't think its any better because people are getting paid for it.  Its not just that it exploits other people's problems.  It also triggers humanity's instinct to point and laugh (which I am not immune to as you can see in my first post).

I'm not a fan of JJ personally (she's a bit too prickly for me) but, I do watch her show and have for quite some time. I remember watching that episode with JH in the audience and when they did that quick cut to, I about died laughing because I was like wow, Jim really likes this show too.

Think what you want about JJ but that woman can give anyone an education. She breaks down the law very well with explanations and while I'm not a lawyer, it has def smarten me up to certain legal things and just how people operate.  She's sharp as a tack and I love how she lays into the stupid idiots that decide to come on the show thinking they're going to get away with something.

I can see why JH watches... :)

he really, really appreciates excellence, no matter where he finds it.  Remember the story of him watching a traffic cop in SD for an hour because he was so good at it.  I think we got the right guy.

Anyone think that Harbaugh invites her for a game? I wouldn't mind. It's funny and quirky. We all have our quirks.

If the world were entirely like me, it would be good looking, great hair but boring as crap.
