I live right in Romulus actually, and arguably one of the better places near Metro might be Leonardo's on Merriman Road, just south of Ecorse. 7575 Merriman, to be exact - it's about 1/2 mile outside the north entrance to the airport. It is in a small complex right next to the Public Service Credit Union branch.
If you're willing to venture maybe 10-15 minutes away, the Bayou Grill in downtown Belleville (corner of Main and 3rd, I believe). Parking is in the rear of the building.

Of course, this isn't related at all to the topic of this thread (or otherwise helpful in any way), but hey, it is food related, it's late on a Friday afternoon, and I'm hungry...

You like burgers? I heard this place got good burgers.

Out near the airport? The strip club buffets might be good.
Mores seriously, Dearborn is probably your best bet near the airport. How fancy are we talking? Or just good grub?

If you're willing to travel to Detroit itself (15 min away?) try Giovanni's Ristrorante; it's the best Italian I've had around here.

This place is awesome. +10000 points
Dearborn had great Lebanese food but not much was high end. For that, you need to go west to Ann Arbor, north to Lark in W.Bloomfield or the restaurants around Birmingham, or east to Detroit

Andiamo in Dearborn. Only 12 minutes from the aiport.

Kiernan's Steakhouse if they want more protein fare.

Having lived in Dearborn for a while, I never heard good enough things about either Andiamo or Kiernan's to try them. (Both have lukewarm Yelp reviews.) Moro's Dining in Allen Park is worth trying, but it's demographically very weird. A guy in a tux will prepare your salad at your table, but it'll mostly be lettuce, and he might be missing a tooth.
I think Bistro 222 is the nicest place I've been in Dearborn. It's the best bet if you can get in. If you haven't gone yet, and can call ahead, I'd try that.

I'm worrying about Ann Arbor for dinner tonight, thinking everything is gonna be packed...

I like Kiernan's, but it can be iffy, depending on your friend's tastes. Andiamo is a pretty consistent experience. You might also look at the restaurant (Edison's) located inside the Dearborn Inn. All of them are within minutes of one another.
