There is alarmingly little interest in Harbaugh from the NFL being reported. If the NFL really won’t welcome him back, there is still a path to Campbell for 2021.

Step 1: Fire Harbaugh

Step 2: Hire Campbell

Are we really sold on Campbell?  He's doing ok but he also lucked into an NFL QB (potential 1st round QB) from the #839th ranked recruit.  Campbell can get some credit for finding/coaching him but that's still a lot of luck.  Last year he was 7-5.  He had a pretty good year in a pandemic and suddenly he's our savior?  I felt much better about the RR and Harbaugh hires than Campbell.  His recruiting is about average for the school at both Toledo and Iowa St.  His time in Toledo was about the same as his predecessor and worse than his successor.  I don't know what's right but acting like this guy is an easy choice seems naive.  I am definitely not arguing for Harbaugh, I just don't get excited about Campbell.

People value potential more than anything else.  I don't get the Harbaugh hate tbh.  These same people arguing for Campbell were arguing for PJ Fleck.

I am annoyed that this isn't resolved yet though.  Personally, if Harbaugh wants to move on to the NFL then let him.  If not, then let's make the deal and move on.

Not that it means anything, but former NY Jet Keyshawn Johnson was advocating they hire either Harbaugh or Caldwell.

He believes a team like the Jets would be much better off hiring a retread as opposed to one of these up and coming coordinators.

Again, doesnt mean much, but I am wondering if one of these teams feels the same way and will give Harbaugh a shot. It doesnt look like it, but you never know.

This means nothing.  All the names on the list (other than Urban) are NFL coaches.  In the NFL one team has to request another team's coach, so the interviews are easily leaked and general knowledge.  There's no such requirement to interview college coaches, so there's inherently going to be fewer stories and leaks.

FWIW, my college roommate is an agent, I know Harbaugh doesn't really have an agent, but he told me that Harbaugh's name is not really involved  with any of the openings, believe it or not.

That's been my expectation given JH has failed miserably at UM and is a bit of a PR nightmare given bumbling, stumbling public appearances.

Seriously, what pro owner would give JH tens of millions of dollars and entrust their franchise to him?

I don't get the John U tweets.  A few weeks ago he fluffs up Harbaugh saying that 4-5 teams are definitely interested, and then this week he is 80% confident he'll be back.

This list feels...generic.  Like, they had a list of 6 candidates and then just sort of slotted them into a couple of existing teams.  I'm not saying there aren't kernels of truth here but I do honestly wonder if Marvin Lewis, for example, is only on Detroit's radar as a #3 option after they booted Jim Caldwell for being consistently okay, which is sort of Marvin Lewis's MO.
