Wow two of the all time greats at their respective positions come in, play for Detroit, and retire early. All those stats and no hardware to show for it.

I know Megatron had health reasons for retiring, and I don't blame him at all for leaving the game, but man Detroit is just cursed.

Just realized he scored a wonderlic score of 41! Thats higher than Andrew Luck and one of the highest for receivers. Not that the score correlates to football success, but now time to cure cancer.

How long have you followed lions?
If you still support them and you are above 30 years old- it's on you.
I gave up on them when it became obvious the owners don't care
You don't suck forever without a very good reason
Billy sims Herman Moore
Barry sanders Calvin Johnson
Etc- no one wins

The Lions typicallay have the worst offensive lines in all the NFL. This is why Barry retired. This contributed to the poor reputation of Stafford. Never enough time to get Johnson the deep ball. The short range passing game exposed Johnson to devastating hits. It is no wonder two of the biggest stars in team history retired early. Why be subjected to such abuse and never play for a championship.

He will regret retiring early as does Barry. The Lions gave him a ton of money and he didn't hold up on his end. I don't blame the Lions at all and fully think Calvin will regret this decision. If he wanted to leave he should of asked to be traded behind closed doors.

all the people saying the Lions wasted another star really don't know how many stars in the league have never won a Super Bowl. The answer: A LOT.

Good for him; why rack up more injuries to play for that clownshow. It'd be great if he could play a season with a good team. The Patriots would be perfect; perennial contender and an all-time great QB.

I will always be a Lions fan unlike all the quitters on here. It's not as bad as being a Cubs fan (so far). It's too bad they wasted the careers of best RB and the best WR of all time though.
