Brett Favre is the best theater in this league in my lifetime. What a beast. One more year!!! One more year!!!!
December 20th, 2010 at 8:31 PM ^
joking?
December 20th, 2010 at 9:11 PM ^
I sure hope so. He's is a bigger media whore than Paris Hilton.
December 20th, 2010 at 9:39 PM ^
You can probably take "media" out of there, now for both of them.
<br>
<br>But it's funny you should bring up Paris in a game with the Bears, consider who she's dated...

Guess that Webb sneak attack in Fantasy backfired on me. FML.

December 20th, 2010 at 8:22 PM ^
Almost got me. Thankfully, I picked up Bennett earlier in the week just in case the QB-as-WR scheme backfired. Of course, I dropped Manningham to pick up Bennett, which appears to have been a mistake. (Congrats Manningham!)
December 20th, 2010 at 8:25 PM ^
I had Manningham AND Collie on the bench. Fuck.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:42 PM ^
I feel your pain. If I had started any one of Manningham, Lloyd, or Mendenhall, I would already have won this week. Here's hoping Earl "insurance pick up" Bennett has a respectable night.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:48 PM ^
hmm vincent jackson's coming off an injury...
lets bench him and play it safe :D

I needed 4 points from Webb to upset the #1 team in my Fantasy League. I lost Frank Gore, Steve Smith, Dez Bryant, Aaron Rodgers I replace with Sam Bradford and I still had a shot at this thing. I hate Brett Favre!
December 20th, 2010 at 9:39 PM ^
Looks like Favre done, 11 min left in 2nd qtr
December 20th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
Favre out! Webb just needs like 4 TD's and I should be all set. lol
December 20th, 2010 at 8:15 PM ^
Not facing AP just got me to the title game! The other owner probably isn't so happy.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:43 PM ^
yeah i'm that other owner...
I'm really not happy.
REALLY
SOLIDLY NOT HAPPY!
to relay my angar:

TCF Bank Stadium.
Hmmm, doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:43 PM ^
I live a mile from the stadium. Roads are ridiculous. We got a few inches right before the game, took me 1.5 hours to go 25 miles. I'm surprised at the turn out, these true Minnesotan people are troopers.
December 20th, 2010 at 9:33 PM ^
Assuming you can get there safely, it's really not that cold. It could have been 20 to 30 degrees colder (like last week).
December 20th, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
the AP news is good for me.
Hopefully last week's game was simply just one of those games and the Bears come out and beat the crap out of the Minny Favre's.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:25 PM ^
This is how real men play football!! Not in a dome and NOT IN THE SOUTH!! lol
December 20th, 2010 at 8:30 PM ^
I'm up 1 pt in fantasy and he only has Matt Forte left to play. This doesn't bode well for me unless he doesn't play, or has his worst game of the season.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:31 PM ^
The Cyberdemons (11-3) were down 1.8 points to the opposition in the first round of the playoffs. However, with AP yet to play and my opponent all out, it was all in the bag, right?
Until AP was declared out for the game and Gerhart was placed on waivers yesterday...
Anyone else had their fantasy soul dong crushed recently?

Eh, I annihilated my league in the regular season (12-1, about 300 more points than anyone else) and lost in the first round due to any one of Aaron Rodgers getting hurt and missing half the game, Jennings dropping that bomb from Rodgers, or Santonio Holmes dropping an easy TD catch -- I lost by 3 to a team with a losing record in the regular season (16 team league, 8 in the playoffs). Still would have won if I had realized Delhomme was starting for the Browns and thus benched their TE in favor of the other one I have.
Of course, without Rodgers and with Arian Foster's lousy performance this week I would have lost in the semis anyway, so oh well.

Solid publicity for Univ of Minnesota. Nice to see Minnesota play outdoors... I'm excited for this game for some reason.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:35 PM ^
Why all the empty seats??
<br>
<br>Great to see the Vikes playing outdoors in December again.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:38 PM ^
I guess those minnesota fans just cant cut it with the wind chill at -1...
December 20th, 2010 at 8:51 PM ^
Home Field Advantage.
<br>
<br>Used to be great to watch all those Southern teams come in for a playoff game, freezing their asses off, while the Vikes wore short sleeves. The Dome has made them soft. (Boo to the Lions too). There's a reason playoff games are a nightmare in Green Bay, Buffalo (kiddies, they used to go a lot), and now New England.
<br>
<br>And -1 is tanning weather for the people I used to know in Minnesota. If there's not 6 feet of snow, they don't even notice it. ;-)
December 20th, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
It was not a personal jab, more like poking fun of. I am not really a Lions fan though...
Besides, what are those play-off games you speak of!? I haven't heard of those since I was a wee-little lad. I just thought they were fables passed down from generation to generation...
December 20th, 2010 at 9:23 PM ^
I felt the tongue firmly planted in cheek
<br>
<br>As for the playoffs, do you mean the Lions or Bills? Growing up in Michigan, we all took other teams, and I liked the Vikes, but now really root for teams with Michigan players (and the current Lions regime is the first I don't think is laughable...maybe in MY lifetime). But for the Lions, they used to regularly alternate years. Be good, make the playoffs, get the tougher schedule, miss the playoffs, get the easier schedule, lather, rinse, repeat. They just never WON in the playoffs (but that one game). They were called the Wayne Fontes years. It wasn't till the Millen years that they became know for being putrid. They used to be know more for bring puzzling than bad. Like in current terms, they would have beat anew England on Thanksgiving, but lost to the Panthers the next week. Before the dark times. Before the Empire.
<br>
<br>The Bills...well, it's been awhile since they used bringing the Oilers, Dolphins, Raiders to Buffalo and riding the icy cold to 4 straight Super Bowls, but it happened. ;-)
December 20th, 2010 at 8:38 PM ^
I'm sure they'll fill in, it's probably freezing over there.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:36 PM ^
From Forte tonight. Other than that, the game has no meaning to me.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:41 PM ^
There is nothing I hate more than listening to Jaws and Gruden out do each other in dopey comments that make me want to stick a buckeye nut in my ear (no homo). They sound like the same exact person and therefore I hate them both equally.
Luckily, the TV gods invented the mute button. I'll be listening to the Sam Spence NFL films soundtrack instead, I advise you all to do the same.
December 21st, 2010 at 12:49 AM ^
me too.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:47 PM ^
The first sack on Favre is going to be so satisfying. Hope that golf ball size knot doesn't get a little larger Brent.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:51 PM ^
I hope Favre wore his favorite Wrangler jorts.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
Though I'm surprised Wrangler hasn't pulled those commercials this season.
<br>
<br>"I'm never out of my Wranglers. Unless I'm, you know, texting photos".
December 20th, 2010 at 9:34 PM ^
We should have had a pool going.
December 20th, 2010 at 9:45 PM ^
We're bad people. I was in the kitchen when I heard the girls scream "The bitch is down! DRINK!".
Also we had a pool, I had last 5 minutes of the 1st. Booo.
December 20th, 2010 at 9:57 PM ^
Watching the football game, it's not all bad (people or otherwise).
<br>
<br>Though really, nothing to feel guilty about, because we all knew he'd find a way to punk out of any upcoming extension.
<br>
<br>What was I saying...I just got distracted by Brooke Burke on a trampoline on the tv....
December 20th, 2010 at 9:59 PM ^
"suspension". IAuto correct and Brooke bouncing not a good combo...
December 20th, 2010 at 8:55 PM ^
This weather, give me Joe Kapp.
December 20th, 2010 at 9:03 PM ^
Did they mic the ever-loving hell out of the stadium or what? I watched the Minny-Iowa game a few weeks ago and it was nowhere near as loud as this. I mean, it's not even possible for the stadium to be this loud, since you can hear a ton of cheering when the Vikings are on offense.
December 20th, 2010 at 9:10 PM ^
December 20th, 2010 at 9:14 PM ^
No idea why.
December 20th, 2010 at 9:40 PM ^
This thread is most certainly not FONTastic...
December 20th, 2010 at 10:02 PM ^
It's certainly living up to the level of Fontestastic.
<br>
<br>(Two Wayne Fontes references in one thread...never thought I'd pull that off).
December 20th, 2010 at 10:03 PM ^
His footwork looks like mine would look if I were asked to play QB in the NFL tomorrow.
December 20th, 2010 at 10:14 PM ^
I like seeing the big-dollar doughy fat pros freeze their lard butts off and play a REAL football game for the 1st time in 30 years.
No domes, no heated fields, no deluxe homefield spa lockeroom - welcome back to real football boys.
December 20th, 2010 at 10:22 PM ^
Ha! When Bud Grant coached football, he didn't need a namby pamby parka!
