Feeding off the home plate ump. At first I thought the TBS pitch tracker thing was off or maybe the outfield camera man is father off to the right but they just aren't sharp tonight

Yeah it was a tough situation.  Ideally he would have sat the last 3 weeks.  I think they could have sat him longer when he first got injured though about a month and a half ago.  Would have made more sense to sit him for at least 2 weeks rather than sit him 2 days, play 2 games, sit another game, play 3 games, DH a game, play 5 innings, sit, play 4, sit... you get the idea.  It probably would have amounted to the same number of missed games and actually healed him up some.  Don't know what the injury is obviously but it seems like something that some rest would help.  Also, the fact that we played an interleague series to end the year is absurd.

lead at one point. My line of thinking is they should have nipped the issues in the bud early on, instead they kept on rolling the dice. Eventually they reached a point of no return, where he wasn't going to be 100% healthy, no matter what they did. He basically missed almost the same amount of time as two week DL stint anyways, considering the games he had to leave early.  He is just trying to get by with all arms right now, even for as a talented as he is, that is going to cause a drastic hit in production.

Their record with Miggy wasn't too bad either. They still could have won games without him.

Obviously hindsight is 20/20 and I'm even willing to agree with you about sitting him, but at the point he was playing hurt he was still raking in early August. Hard to sit a guy that is still incredibly productive, even if he is playing at 70%. Now obviously it lead to other injuries but I don't think there was really a right call to make whether it be to sit him or play him.

Announcers just lost all respect from me with that nonsense about the Hunter steal.  "He was safe, but the ball beat him there, and that was just a stupid play, so... you're out."  Excuse me?

Did that announcer actually just say that even though he was safe the fact that the throw beat him to the bag means he should be out anyway so no prob on the bad call?  WTF!

the dumbest statement I have ever heard an announcer make. Hate the whole ball beats a guy, so he is out line of thinking. You see it all the time from the umps, in terms of missing calls. Don't often see announcers try and cover for it, by making idiotic statments  though.

And how do they figure that was horrible decision by Hunter? The 2nd basemen and pitcher weren't paying attention. That is heads up thinking on his part.

I live in China and have not watched much of the Tigers this year.  I just read a lot and always  come across stories about how Scherzer should not win the Cy Young (advanced stats).

Small sample size is obvious but if tonight is representative of his year, give him the Cy Young.

a turning point in this game. Tigers have outhit Oakland 10-1, but lead is still not in safe territory.

At first I thought sending Victor was a horrible decision, but after seeing the replay it was literally a perfect throw. A slightly offline throw and he probally scores.
