The choices are Dirks, Kelly and a guy in Peralta who hasn't played the outfield before the last couple of weeks. Against righties I think Dirks is probally the best option

Not sure why people were on him for that triple earlier in the game. That was a rocket by Cespedes. He reached for it, but it was way over his head.

Typical Tigers down the stretch. 10 hits garners only 3 runs. The other team now has 3 hits and 2 runs. Un-fucking real. Our offense better get it's head out of its ass.

Decision time for Leyland, if you put Smyly in to start next inning Melvin will most likely pinch hit Callaspo. I'd rather see the Sogard-Scherzer matchup but doubtful Leyland plays it that way.

Cabrera's lack of speed (in general) and his injury mean fewer infield singles.  It makes his batting average all the more impressive.  The guy practically has to hit a double to get on first base.

they can't let this series become a bullpen contest. Oakland has a good sized edge there, though Smyly, Veras and Beniot are solid. Everybody else is the problem.

Starters are going to have to be at the top of their game in this series.

of confidence in Smyly, Veras, and Benoit (despite blowing a couple saves late in the season). Everybody else is heart attack city though.

Edit: And just when I say that Smyly gives up a walk.
