Onwenu to DT?
Honest question, should Onwenu move to NT? Runyan to RG and Hayes LT??
Michigan has 1.5 DTs, Kemp and Jeter ( .5) both are 290 lbs and Michigan just got absolutely carved up on the ground, and had no chance vs that Wisconsin O line. Onwenu played a little NT as a Fr. and how many 350 + lb OL are there in the NFL compared to NTs?
Getting to the QB is one thing, but if you can't stop the run, you have no chance winning a game, plus how well does Onwenu fit into speed in space? To me, job #1 is stopping the run.
whatd do you think, too late for a move? Gotta try it? Keep getting destroyed with a couple of 288 pound DTs?

Who fucking cares? Everyone who laughed about Aubrey leaving can go eat their shit sandwich now.

Uhhh Tennessee is still worse than Michigan
September 21st, 2019 at 4:37 PM ^
Uhhh do you think Mason isn't vastly inferior to Aubrey? Uhhh do you think this team wouldn't be better with Aubrey on it?

Like the fans had anything to do with Aubrey “Fuck Michigan” Solomon’s douchebag ass leaving for UT.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:45 PM ^
I watched a little of that game, Aubrey is not very good, and he isn't here anymore, but he can't be better than Hinton, Mazi, Ojabo, Villain, and anyone else that has played DT for more than 6 months. I just don't get that part of it.

We need to pay for 5 star recruits then get those recruits on PEDs.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
Sounds crazy but so is having Jordan fucking Glasgow over the guard with his hand in the dirt at the fucking goal line multiple times. That may have been the single dumbest thing I’ve seen in my life. And I’ve done some dumb shit.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:37 PM ^
Agreed. Some of the defensive lineups this year have been highly questionable. Don Brown has 0 faith in the freshmen DTs. We played a DE on the Center and Glasgow on the guard multiple times in this game. Against 320 pound offensive linemen haha.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:38 PM ^
Double Rant.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:42 PM ^
Honest Question: How long has Don Brown been at any one position. It sure seems like his gimmick Defense folds against the bigger opponents and teams start to figure out how to beat our one trick pony!
September 21st, 2019 at 9:17 PM ^
Teams could figure out how to beat him based on his film at other places. It's not like high school where film isn't publicly available to the nation on a weekly basis.
Michigan just doesn't have the horses this year, so Brown is having to make it up as he goes. Michigan doesn't have defensive tackles, cornerbacks, etc.
September 21st, 2019 at 5:11 PM ^
Exactly. I said the same thing. The defensive alignments were giving them 4 yards per carry.
September 21st, 2019 at 5:48 PM ^
Agreed. Harbaugh and Brown frequently try to create a gimmick almost in an attempt to say “look how smart I am” ... and it appears stupid when it doesn’t work.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
No. He is a solid guard. Do not start over with him. Also, Kemp penetrated pretty well today. We got crushed, but we don’t need to do something stupid like changing positions mid season for a consistently strong starting offensive lineman.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
Kemp is brutal.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:55 PM ^
I think Kemp is solid and could be a pretty good 3 tech, but Michigan needs a bigger run stuffing DT at nose IMO.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
Not a bad idea, we have no beef on the DL. Problem is the OL is so bad, I don't know if we can afford to lose Onwenu up front.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
Agree, we need a nose
September 21st, 2019 at 4:40 PM ^
Yes, I thought about this as well.
Whatever it takes to get Jordan Glasgow off the defensive freaking line...
September 21st, 2019 at 4:41 PM ^
We should have found a serviceable DT this off season we knew we were light but did nothing
September 21st, 2019 at 4:42 PM ^
The team's problems go far beyond that.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:49 PM ^
We have a coaching problem. Danna played well when in there, for 3 snaps. There is no way possible that Mason is better than kids who have played the position for longer than 6 months. Something is going on, we may never know about, but these lineups and rotations don't make since.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:56 PM ^
I agree, but it starts with stopping the run or else the other team keeps the ball forever and can run anything they want.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:45 PM ^
While not a bad idea in theory, I wouldn't trust this staff at this time to replace him with the right guy at RG. We'd probably see Ben Mason playing RG if they moved Onwenu to NT.
September 21st, 2019 at 5:49 PM ^
Onwenu to LB, Mason to OG and Glasgow to NT. LOL
September 21st, 2019 at 4:56 PM ^
Seems like a 5 man line (Kemp, Hutchinson, Paye, Jeter/Danna, Uche/Mason) should have at least been tried. Taylor looks like the best back in the country but allowing those beefy cheese eaters to double whichever guy they wanted was suicide. If we lost with Coan going ham on our secondary so be it. We went into the game knowing Taylor was the best player we would see all year and we did nothing to disrupt that.
September 21st, 2019 at 5:05 PM ^
How about just play one of the two freshman dt we have.
September 21st, 2019 at 5:06 PM ^
Kemp ran by Taylor a good 10 times today
September 21st, 2019 at 5:26 PM ^
He was shooting gaps and over pursuing.
