3 fucking points in the entire 2nd half
November 26th, 2022 at 5:42 PM ^
Between 27 points last year and 23 this year, Ryan Day is officially halfway through his promise of hanging 100 on Michigan.
November 26th, 2022 at 7:12 PM ^
Someone liked this comment so much that they started an OP (and took credit for the observation)
November 26th, 2022 at 11:57 PM ^
Minter and this D has allowed 1 2nd half touchdown in the last 7 games.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:27 AM ^
Illinois had two…
November 26th, 2022 at 3:55 PM ^
3 second-half points. Nuff said.
November 26th, 2022 at 3:56 PM ^
I couldn't watch but NOW sooooo excited!
4 of the 5 times I've traveled to a Michigan game, they lost, so I turned down an invitation for a seat a few rows behind the Michigan bench.
But I declined. You're welcome.
November 26th, 2022 at 5:26 PM ^
Keep erasing/covering up all the M’s around campus you fucking bush league douchebags!
November 26th, 2022 at 7:09 PM ^
And it takes two of their alumni to spell it.
November 26th, 2022 at 3:57 PM ^
Bent but didnt break!
Minter called an awesome game.
Total team effort, w special props to Sainristil. Mcgregor came up huge too!
What a gutsy team D this year.
Go Blue!!!
November 26th, 2022 at 4:33 PM ^
For Sainristil to move to D like that and have such an impact is nothing short of amazing. That break-up in the corner of the end zone when the receiver was coming down with the ball and Sainristil poked it out of his hands without making contact was memorable.
November 26th, 2022 at 5:16 PM ^
Agree. I wrote him off as a contributor when the rumor came out that he was switching; figured it was a playing time thing, he was moving and transfering. Turns out it was a genius move. He seriously has given himself a chance to get some time in the NFL. What a player.
November 26th, 2022 at 5:27 PM ^
Arguably the play of the game
November 26th, 2022 at 11:00 PM ^
It's even better on replay. He made up like five steps while the ball is in the air. Just an insane play.
I'm going to be mad if he's not drafted.
November 26th, 2022 at 5:32 PM ^
I agree. Sain has been unbelievable all year - unimaginably good for a late-career position switch. And THAT PLAY goes in the pantheon.
November 26th, 2022 at 7:18 PM ^
Second/Third this 100%! That Sainristil PBU in the endzone belongs in The Pantheon!
November 26th, 2022 at 5:48 PM ^
He has been lights out all year. Biggest pleasant surprise.
November 26th, 2022 at 9:01 PM ^
breaking up a sure touchdown in the game to keep it to 8 - should be the theoretical four point play that they discussed on the pod. @seth!
November 26th, 2022 at 10:29 PM ^
That play has got to haunt Ohio State. It was a clear TD. But then it wasn't, and there was no doubt about it. Game of inches and all that.
I thought the officials called a near perfect game. They got ALL the pass interference calls right. That's hard to do.
November 26th, 2022 at 5:03 PM ^
"No stars defense..." Jim Harbaugh
November 26th, 2022 at 6:27 PM ^
the real stars are the friends we made along the way.
November 27th, 2022 at 12:27 AM ^
McGregor really played well today. Was a difference maker and almost had a couple picks.
November 27th, 2022 at 7:41 AM ^
Good mention.
Cornelius Johnson and Braiden McGregor both picked the best possible time to play their best games in the winged helmet.
I know we’re all still euphoric, but damn, what if McGregor had come up a pick on one of those two plays? On the first, he did a HELL of a job selling that he was blitzing before dropping back. He baited Stroud into that throw.
And what if this dipshit officiating crew doesn’t find a way to negate that late Stroud fumble that Upshaw very likely takes to the house? 52-23 would have been even better!
November 26th, 2022 at 3:57 PM ^
Simply unbelievable game plan! Minter is a legend!
November 26th, 2022 at 4:43 PM ^
Feels like we downloaded their playbook and had an answer for EVERYTHING they wanted to do. There were less than 5 plays total where they had a guy wide open. We made them work for everything. When they weren’t perfect, we stopped them.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:31 PM ^
Amen. Heisman candidate Stroud had all day back there, but couldn't find anyone open. How does that happen when Ohio State supposedly has all world receivers?
November 26th, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
What a fucking game by the D! Fewer points than last year.
November 26th, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
PAY MINTER ALL THE MONIES!
November 26th, 2022 at 7:16 PM ^
We have to see if Harbaugh keeps all the bonus money…. Oh wait, that’s a Michigan State thing to do.
November 26th, 2022 at 3:59 PM ^
This was the exam for the defense.
And they were spectacular. I didn’t think they could do it this well.
I mean, Michigan had no business even being in this game. But the defense did enough to keep it close until the offense took over, and then jailed the high-flying Buckeye Offense in the second half.
Give Minter a raise. The “borrow the Ravens” strategy Harbaugh played has transformed this team.
November 26th, 2022 at 4:34 PM ^
Michigan and OSU’s defenses both had their first real test today. Turns out Michigan’s defense was very real; OSU’s defense was very fraudulent
November 26th, 2022 at 5:06 PM ^
OSU and their big 12 defense..
November 26th, 2022 at 6:30 PM ^
Ryan Day thinking outside of the box with that move.
November 26th, 2022 at 9:34 PM ^
Thinking inside the box has its place - maybe including when you have all those high star recruits that OSU has on their defense.
November 26th, 2022 at 5:25 PM ^
And Poggi.
November 26th, 2022 at 5:54 PM ^
Unfortunately, apparently on his way out already. But, yes. Offer him $3 million to stay. Not exaggerating.
November 26th, 2022 at 6:50 PM ^
It turns out they had every business being in this game. Look at the body of work coming in - rankings and points allowed in the second half in particular.
November 26th, 2022 at 7:19 PM ^
The Bucks trailed in the 4th quarter for a number of their games this year. No miracles this game! Great adjustments by the Michigan coaches in the second half. They did it all year.
November 26th, 2022 at 3:59 PM ^
This group should get most of the accolades. 3 points in the 2nd half. Made stops in the red zone. Don't really recall a guy wide open down the field--coverage was tight all day (even when OSU made plays).
And maybe most importantly, when the offense was struggling early, held OSU to a FG, a Turnover on Downs, and a punt after the initial TD. They got just enough stops to keep Michigan in it until the tide was turned.
An amazing job across the board.
November 26th, 2022 at 4:58 PM ^
OSU had a bit over 310 yards of offense at halftime. The fact that they had only 20 points, in spite of that many yards, was big.
It was a lot like last year though, wasn't it? OSU moved the ball well and quickly between the 20's and then bogged down both years and couldn't finish the deal.
If you told me before the game that OSU would end up with 492 yards total offense and that we would STILL smoke them, I'd never have believed it.
November 26th, 2022 at 6:31 PM ^
Having a defense that can shut the other team down lets the Offense play so loose. A team game.
November 26th, 2022 at 3:59 PM ^
Bye bye Heisman!
November 26th, 2022 at 4:00 PM ^
Sainristil for Heisman!
November 26th, 2022 at 4:06 PM ^
That was the national defensive play of the year.
November 26th, 2022 at 4:10 PM ^
Sainristil was unbelievable, great instincts for ball-hawking.
Imagine if he'd come up with those two near-picks.
November 26th, 2022 at 7:22 PM ^
On that diving play, his shoulder hit the OSU player, but his hands hit the ball. The crowd groaned for a PI call and didn’t get it. Hat tip to the refs, especially since there was a recent (and critical) PI call on them on our previous drive.
November 26th, 2022 at 9:38 PM ^
+1, amazing - he's giving up so much height to that TE (you can tell from the video, but I looked it up: half a foot. 6'4 vs 5'10) and Stover has his hands up pretty high.
Stover coulda made a MUCH better play on the ball though - catch it with his hands instead of barely with his fingertips and he probably holds on. Good thing he's a TE and not Marvin Harrison Jr (or Olave and Wilson from last year).
November 26th, 2022 at 5:42 PM ^
And you may have not heard this, but he's a converted wide receiver /s.
