Odds of M/MSU being a College Gameday battle
As other MGoUsers pointed out there is still no game time for the MSU game. It's starting to shape up like this could be a top-15 matchup two weeks from now. The number 3, 6, 7, 8, 19, 21, 23 ranked teams all lost games yesterday so there will be some serious reshuffling in the rankings today.
Michigan will almost certainly move into the top 20, while Northwestern was already No. 16 before their shutout yesterday, so they'll move into the top 15. A win vs NW next week would catapult the good guys into the same position.
What are the odds we still haven't heard a game time because the value of the game won't be decided until next week? Could this be a potential College Gameday game?

I know you're not being serious but MSU hasn't lost to a team as bad as Rutgers in almost a decade.

And my uncle's name is Jeff.
Irrelevant things aside, the only way MSU loses to Rutgers is if the team bus gets lost on the way to the stadium and they have to forfeit.

If we had won the Utah game, I think are odds would have been better provided both teams took care of business next week.

I think the fact that none of those games will be on and ESPN/ABC channel helps us. They've done non-DIsney games before, but if it's close I'm sure ESPN wants to promote themselves.

You're forgetting something. I think of the four teams in question (UM, MSU, LSU, Florida), Florida is the most likely to lose this week. Gameday obviously won't go to that game if Florida is coming off a loss to unranked Missouri.

Two other pretty intriguing games in Alabama v Texas A&M and LSU v Florida. Both will likely be top 15'ish games.

Prolly some of the books will post later today but as of now nothings up. I would guess the line opens about where you think but moves to Michigan -5 by kickoff. That BYU line opened at -3 and Michigan money moved it to -6.5 by kickoff.

I am guessing more in the minus 4-6 range. I think minus 2-4 makes sense, but I was close to shocked at BYU line when it came out (-4 I thought), and then it only moved up some.
I look for it to get to 7 to even out the handle.

Not a betting guy, but I'm really curious what the over/under for that game is. I mean if it was around 32, I'm not sure which way I would swing.

i would think coming to Michigan, Jim Haurbaugh's first season in a top 15 matchup, involving the "#2" team in the country would bring them to Ann Arbor.

I actually don't think ESPN has any inherent SEC bias. Sure - they talk about the SEC a lot, but that's because they have lots of good teams with large fanbases. This should not be a surprise. However, they also talk about ND and OSU a ton when they're good, for the same reason. When Michigan was a top team (and even a lot of the time they weren't) ESPN gave us tons of air time. Same thing for teams like Texas and USC.
And all things being equal, ESPN would rather push a big Big Ten match up than a big SEC match up because ESPN/ABC has our primary TV rights and not the SEC's.

yep, and on BamaGoBlog or whatever most people will tell you that ESPN is biased toward the B1G.

I understand that no one expected NW and Michigan to be playing so well, but how does Minnesota vs Purdue get on ESPN and our game on BTN. BTN is just awful.
