who fails upward better: Whitlock, Kiffin, or Brandon?
As other MGoUsers pointed out there is still no game time for the MSU game. It's starting to shape up like this could be a top-15 matchup two weeks from now. The number 3, 6, 7, 8, 19, 21, 23 ranked teams all lost games yesterday so there will be some serious reshuffling in the rankings today.
Michigan will almost certainly move into the top 20, while Northwestern was already No. 16 before their shutout yesterday, so they'll move into the top 15. A win vs NW next week would catapult the good guys into the same position.
What are the odds we still haven't heard a game time because the value of the game won't be decided until next week? Could this be a potential College Gameday game?
Sure there have been many but in thinking about some of the dumbest statements I've heard from high profile coaches, three jump out at me right away. They are:
1. Brett, opening his mouth about SEC schedule and gettin his ass beat by Toledo then TT
2. Rex Ryan, tugging on Superman's cape
3. Dantonio, just when I was ready to acknowledge his success and thinking he was secure:
"They are selling hope. We are selling results." I mean JH has no results to stand on.
I am certain you can think of many more. Would love to hear them. These tree top the list so far, imo.
Apparently, per all the Twitters, some Michigan player(s) planted a spear on the block S during the pregame.
Does Hoke have any control over his team?
This is apparently why Dantonio went for the last touchdown (way to take the high road, Mark). But still, if there was ever a time to not disrespect your rival, it was before this game.
EDIT: Some Tweets:
"Them putting a spear in a field before the game is not a product of their team but their program." - Dantonio on the UofM Pregame spear.— Rico Beard (@RicoBeard) October 25, 2014
Connor Cook was clear, last TD was because MSU felt disrespected before game. Said a UM player stuck a spear in field before game— Matt Charboneau (@mattcharboneau) October 25, 2014
Buddy just asked me if Dantonio ran it up because of Nussmeier's reaction but just heard UM players speared the S. That would explain it— Jeff Riger (@riger1984) October 25, 2014
And worst of all:
Hoke said he was somewhat aware that one his players put a spear in the ground before the game but "not fully aware"— Mark Snyder (@Mark__Snyder) October 25, 2014
Perhaps, not worst of all. This seems dubious, so please be untrue:
Final Edit: Appears to not be on the block S. Here's the .gif

I'm going to the PIttsburgh Coaches Clinic this weekend. Dantonio is the keynote speaker. Is anyone else going? Anything you'd like me to say or ask Dantonio if I should bump into him? Walt Harris and David Shaw are also presenting.
You have an MSU program playing some consistently elite defense, and doing so at a program not able to attract consistently elite prospects. They've been on a pretty impressive run the past 4 years - 11-2, 11-3, 7-6 (6 losses by a combined 30 points) and now sitting at 7-1 with the top ranked defense in the country.
Seems to me like Narduzzi should be a prime head coaching candidate at a major conference team, or a DC at a top 10-15 type team and Dantonio could probably be able to climb the ladder to a traditional top 25 type team where he could recruit better and further build his resume.
I for one hope this happens sooner rather than later. What say you?
As the title says, MSU is under investigation for their use of planes operated by the state of Michigan for recruting trips by Dantonio and Izzo. The investigation began after the Lansing State Journal ran a series on the planes and how they are utilized. Over a five year period, Dantonio and Izzo combined for 102 flights on state-operated flights. As you likely assumed, The University of Michigan can handle it's own recruiting travel arrangements and is not under investigation.
