Sounds like it's down to Maryland, Michigan, and South Carolina.

Reading between the lines (disclaimer: solely based on the above article) I think it's between Maryland and Michigan. This was part of his comments on Michigan

"Plus, I feel like I’ve had the best time up at Michigan. It just feels real good to be up there all the time.”

He's reportedly closest to the recruiting class at USC (NTUSC). But other insiders believe M&M are in the lead. He's geographically closest to Maryland; his parents both went there. Anything is possible with this one...

I don’t see how Maryland continually attracts great talent. Locksley is a good recruiter. I get it. But after enough 6-6 to 7-5 seasons where your team just falls apart down the stretch and gets walloped by anyone who matters, your recruiting pitches have to start losing their luster, don’t they? I have to believe that eventually top recruits just decide to stop listening to you.

What is the allure of playing in the pinstripe bowl or the quick lane bowl every year?

Harbor is such an interesting prospect, IMO.

He's a guy that you get and figure out the position later...but if/when that day comes, I'm still fascinated to see what position he plays.

He's got straight-line speed, but he's really stiff when he runs.

With his size, he's an auto-fade target but I assume everyone is probably expecting more.

He's not a natural WR (catching or running routes). He's not going to block well enough to play TE (i.e., Funchess). And he doesn't want to play defense (even if he did, I wonder if he can bend to turn the corner and play EDGE and if he's willing to take on blocks).

On the flipside, the kid has world-class speed and it translates to the football field (if he's running in a line), and his size makes him ready to step in and play a number of positions.

Do you put him at TE, but use him like Henning? Do you put him on the shelf until he masters a position? The coaches will figure it out, the talent is undeniable and the measureables are generational.

Presumably he's too big to jam at the line, especially with his speed. So even if you just send him on go routes...you're going to loosen up the defense and open things up for the guys underneath (or JJ is going to find him streaking past the deepest safety). That alone is valuable.

This is where I'm at. Even if he came to UM, what is going to play? Sure he's really fast in a straight line, especially at his size, but playing WR is much more than just straight line speed. Plus, if he can't catch then all the speed in the world doesn't matter. Will he be anything more than a gimmick when all is said and done?

Right now my expectations are on a guy who lines up as a flex TE and runs seam routes.

That will put safeties in so much conflict due to his speed.

Other than that, TE reverses, shovel passes, etc.

I think he can be a weapon, my fear is people see the 5* and they destroy him if he's not DK Metcalf from Day 1.

There were Michigan fans who hated on Peppers and Gary, I can only imagine what this would be like.

Put him at TE like Funchess or Eubanks and get to work on his blocking and route running. Whichever comes along faster determines his position.

If he doesn't want to play defense, he'll have to catch, so as long as he's willing to learn, I'm fine with him being a bit more a project.

I feel like he is a bust type player. Freak athlete with not great hands. The track stars like that tend to be duds. Is a guy you feel obligated to play right away ready or not. He is srill a peoject football skill wise and by the time he gets to that point he would be a transfer possibility or he would just leave football and go pro in track

If the coaches still want him I'll trust their gut on that.  I'm sure they already have a plan for him if he decides to play for Michigan.  If not, they'll be fine without him.

From what I've seen he could be useful somewhere with his speed but I dont think "He have to have this guy" when watching his reels.

If there is a 5 star to lose to another team ... it's this one. But if we land him ... it will help our recruiting ranking and perception.

Imo don't sweat this one. And the poster I'm replying to is also of the same opinion as me if I read correctly.

LOL!  The Old South lives on...  Second sentence from the Greenville News: 'It isn't head coach Shane Beamer welcoming them, it's two black women'.

In the SEC you say "two black women", while in the rest of the country you say "two women".  Just a remnant of the Old South that seems so down-home.  Now, I don't think for a minute that the author or editor thought anything about those words and had no ill-advised intent behind them.  But the phrase is just not something most people would write these days...
